in Mobile, Alabama? The game is on Saturday and today the players weighed in and will have light workout before putting on the pads tomorrow. Parcells went last year but not previous 2 years. Most of the players we talked about (except for probable top 5 picks) will be there. Hope he goes but that he names new OC before then. Also imagine Jeff Ireland and many of his scouts will be down there and maybe even Jerry Jones?

Mick and Bill said on Talkin Cowboys that they didnt think he was going this year.
Last year we had 2 1sts so he went but this year its just the scouting team.
They said his car is still in Dallas so...

Thats a shame cause his eye for talent is his greatest asset.

Don't worry.

Jerry and the "Bang Bus" will likely be there.

Hmmm, kinda piss's me off. I look for BP to build this team, especially through the draft. Posibilly our best draft here in years, last year's draft...and BP went to the senior bowl.

Why not this year ? I want every edge we can get.

I look at BP as more of a team builder than an OX's coach nowadays. He should be going to everything he can get to.

Increasingly folks see the senior bowl as useless. it is like the probowl but with an awful location attached. you want the guy to get you a new OC or you want him spending meaningless time at the senior bowl?

Well, since we haven't had an OC in over a year now...I'm not sure he's gonna really get us one anyhow...Maybe a passing game coach to replace Payton ?

The game itself I agree with you. The practice on the other hand is more informative for scouts,GM and coaches. That is really where most of the time is spent and informal interviews are conducted.

there's such a thing as Senior Bowl workouts

that's probably why we drafted Ware, because he showed the ability to drop into coverage in LB drills there

Why would you employ a scouting staff if you were going to do all that yourself?

The question is do you really gain anything with BP there -- or do you get the same result with Ireland and his people taking care of it?

Well, I just go by the fact he thought it was important last year and he went...and we ended up with a good draft...now it's not important for him to go this year ? Is this years draft not as important ?

Guess I don't get the inconsistancy.

I don't know, why don't you ask Gruden, Coughlin, Green and the other 15+ coaches that have been seen there.

I agree that it is not critical that BP is there not all coaches will be, in many cases it is the scouting department who will be there and they will report back to the coach. I have no problem if Bill shows or not and I don't think it will hamper the Cowboys in this upcoming draft. I would be more suprised if Bill missed the combines in Indy than I would be him missing the senior bowl.

It is likely more about how seeing the type of job Ireland did last year -- and what his trip added to that. If his evaluations were consistent with Ireland's and his staff's and they didn't get new information from his trip.

Didn't your mama ever ask "if Dennis Green jumped off a bridge would you jump off a bridge too?"

Maybe those guys don't trust their staffs. The suggestion that BP is slacking though is pretty laughable -- you can slam various aspects of his coaching if you like but it is off-base to suggest he isn't working hard enough.

Yep, last year was Ireland's first year. This year Bill is probably comfortable leaning on him a bit more after last years successes, which can only be good for us.
