Anyone notice the Colts pumped in noise glitch on Sunday?

As I was watching the game with my girlfriend, I noticed that there was a point in the game where the crowd noise sounded a little wierd... almost like a skipping record. I remembered that people had always accused the Colts of pumping in noise, and after that, I absolutely agreed.

The announcers even starting making comments about how, for how loud the crowd was when the Patriot's were on offense, they knew how to get real quiet when the Colts had the ball.

In my mind, there is no doubt the Colts do this now, I've heard the evidence myself. And the difference between when one team had the ball and the other was too good to be true.

What I want to know is if whether this is illegal and whether the Cowboys do this. From the dead sounding crowd at some games, I would say not, but I guess anything is possible.

I heard it...I even rewinded it and played it again for my wife. She heard the samething. Def. noise being pumped in. The crowd actually got quite because Pats just got a 1st down, and the noise was just skipping.

Pretty funny, and I'm surprised that there hasn't been too much more said about it. Very obvious if you ask me.

It is illegal to do, a few years ago Tags was threatining draft pick forfeiture if a team got caught doing this,

This is awesome, if they take the Colts 1st rounder then no matter who we beat in the Superbowl, we'd still have the 31st pick.

Roger will probably make them give over their 1st round pick to the Pats next year. :laugh2:

the noise doesn't sound like what you would expect from a CD of crowd noise skipping.

that noise sounds like a diesel engine idling.

Maybe they do pipe noise into the stadium but thats not what I think that was.

And why would they even use a CD player anyway? Were talking 2007 here, everything is digital these days, if they have crowd noise to play, its probably hidden on some guys iPod.

It sounded almost like feedback or something.

I just saw the video, and i was thinking it was going to be something small that everyone THOUGHT they heard, but that seemed clear as day.

It's all so convenient in light of Spygate, and the Patriots game for that matter... And Kraft so upset...

Are people this gullible that they buy the nonsense...

What I want to know is why is Randy Moss being played man-on-man with the CB giving him a 5+ yard cushion in the 4th on this very play, with the Pats down by 3....

And they are talking about 'crowd-noise'....

lol, I was a little tipsy when I heard that live, and decided I should stop drinking because of it. Good to know it was actually happening.

I imagine they probably amplify current stadium noise, or just save a sample of it during the game on the board rather than play artificial noise from an alternate source.

CBS TAKES BLAME FOR SOUND GLITCH

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that CBS has taken responsibility for the bizarre sound glitch that has prompted speculation that the Colts were caught red-handed in the act of piping phony crowd noise into the RCA Dome.

Per Schefter, the vibrating sound as the Pats were driving at the start of the fourth quarter was the result of tape feedback in the CBS production truck. Schefter says that the sound could not be heard in the stadium.

We've spoken to some radio folks who also believe that the phenomenon was not the result of a glitch during the use of artificial crowd noise.

Oh well. Controversy is a lot juicier. But even when the truth isn't sexy, we've still got to respect it.
