people regularly deal with the cable companies..outages and many other problems. Cable overcharges grossly, so I usually call up every 6 months and complain, and I can usually find a CSR who will appease me by continuing to give me their introductory promotional prices. I have signed up for automatic payments, and every month, they charge me a late fee/return check fee making me call them up to take the charges off. I regularly have interruptions in my OnDemand services, and at least a couple of times per year have to call them up to have them reset my cable box. so yes, if this is another contention, I want to blame the cable company because they suck, and I cannot wait until the day I live in a place where I will have the choice to switch to FIOS or satellite
I recently switched to fiber optics. Great move. But yeah I get your point about people generally hating cable companies, so they just blame them with this too. But Jerry Jones and the NFL are just as much to blame.

Lie? I've already explained my point to you. If you don't see how that wasn't the point, then I guess I can't cure your ignorance on that issue.

Time warners only offer is "give us what we want and let us screw NFL fans"

BTW that doesnt look real

Really, How come you were not up in arms when the nfl locked out cable companies by selling the nfl sunday ticket package to directv only? Talk about getting screwed.

If I were the cable companies I wouldnt give an inch to the nfl, they have not allowed the cable companies to offer the full nfl package to there fans for nearly 10 years now, so why should the cable companies budge?

That is 100% incorrect and another falsehood thrown out by the cable companies .

The Sunday Ticket package was open for bidding about three years ago after the first deal expired. I don't think the cable companies had the foresight that directv did and they decided not to "ante up".

Directv knew they had a "cash cow" in NFL ST. All the cable companies had to do was outbid them to the tune of 5 years for $2 Billion. Guys like Ted Turner are a little too greedy for that plus Ted Turner hates the NFL. Didn't he try to start a football league with Vince McMahon?

Actually, the story is that the networks pressured them into making the exclusive deal with the satellite companies, because the networks would lose viewers.

I used to be a rabid sports fan but over the years different sports have done things which irritated me so I quit paying any attention to baseball, basketball, hockey and college football and I am still a happy and fulfilled person and do not miss them at all.

NFL football is the only sport I watch anymore but if they continue to do things that I find irritating, I shall walk away from the NFL as well and not look back.

Have a link for that? I would love to read the whole story of that. This is the first I've heard of that one.

I dont think the nfl will allow both cable and directv to have sunday ticket like the extra innings, center ice etc...packages.....IT was either or.

And I remember the cable companies being bitter about the first time they sold the rights to directv in 97 I believe it was.

Then the nfl went and blocked the games being available to the people who owned c-band dishes who could always just turn it and get local networks from all over the country.

Hey Maybe I am wrong, but I still dont understand how it doesnt help the nfl to allow cable subscribers to be able to get the sunday ticket package also.

and by the way I have the sunday ticket package and have had it since 98. So its not like I am bitter about it, I have the sunday ticket package and I am only home to watch 8 games when the cowboys are on the road, I just think that not allowing the cable companies to also broadcast all the games is limiting the nfl's exposure just like the cc not airing nfl network for free.

My two cents on the subject is this:

Both are being greedy rich ------- that just want to make more money off consumers.

I'm totally shocked that everyone does not see it that way. No one can convince me that the NFL truly cares about their fans any more than the cable companies care about their customers.
