Because many of you are eating crow for dismissing him so quickly, his quarterback is damn impressed with him.

Who are all these people that dismissed him?
And dismissed him how? Saying he should be cut?
I feel like you enjoy building up strawmen to knock down..
We have some of the stupidest fans. And it was only his rookie year, too.
I think you have a short memory.
Apparently i missed all the threads saying our rookie WR would never amount to anything in this league..
Please check the forum post San Diego.
I'll check it if you link it for me.. otherwise its not worth the effort.

I do doubt the authenticity of the tweet, but are football people floating this idea of "terrible" and "disaster" yes they are.
Hateraide;387222 said:Comments like this drive me NUTS! If he would be some "STAR" or have a "BREAK OUT CAREER" elsewhere, then best of luck to him. He has the perfect chance to do those things here! He just cant get out of his own way! Hes one Toss of his jersey at Garrett to be JUST like his cousin Antonio Bryant!
Tex;387231 said:His numbers? Such as the number of times we see Romo yell "Dez!" after a busted play? Romo can't even look his way in big situations because he runs the wrong route too often. Age can't fix stupid.
Cal;387336 said:Like I've said before, Dez is a fine #3 receiver.
DoTheNeedful;387338 said:The #1 ingredient to a successful WR is having the trust of his QB. No QB could trust #88 so he rarely gets looks. Jerry bought fools gold on this one.
Cal;380823 said:13 catches and he doesn't break 100 yards. I don't know if I've ever seen such crappy production from a receiver. I'm being serious. And his drops are worthy of a benching. That kind of crappy production along with his boneheaded play is easily replaced.
Twisted Dawg;377523 said:No team would give up more than a 5th round pick for a very flawed and emotionally troubled player that doesn't have the ability to remember plays, drops passes, and has emotional tantrums. At best we might get another journeyman OL player back.
If Garrett had a brain and a pair, whihc he doesn't, he would start making Miles the number one option in the passing game. But if he would, I;m sure Jerry would over rule him.

Positives
two TD punt returns. He seems to be real decent in that.
I think he is really over rated, I can't remember a cowboys player that was this over rated .

Hateraide;387484 said:I would call the Jags and offer Dez for Larent Robinson and 2 late round draft picks!
One of the best Rookie classes I can ever remember Jerry bringing in. We've now seen 5 of the 7 picks start a game and not 1 has cost us the game and all have performed at a high level so far. P.S. Freddy & TWill > Floyd hands down.
Williams has contributed to one loss this year when he fumbled on the goal line against San Diego. We score a touchdown on that drive and the score would have been 28 to 30 with about 3 minutes left in the game. San Diego would have gotten the ball, but we still had all 3 of our timeouts. The defense held the Chargers on the next drive (not to suggest this would have still happened with different circumstances, but it goes towards the overall point).
That being said Williams is playing quite well, as is Frederick. I keep telling people not to throw players under the bus so soon, but they're determined to throw Escobar under the bus. Fact is we had a very strong draft, and I don't think we should have done anything differently.
Escobar is being marginalized a bit because of his lack of experience, and the development of Williams and Beasley. This wasn't unexpected. I suggested that there would be a competition for the 11th man or as I refer to it as the 6th man. I originally had Austin in the equation, but I even predicted that if Austin were to be injured that Beasley would instantly vault upwards in the depth chart.
Beasley is in his 2nd year compared to Escobar who has 7 weeks experience in the NFL. Beasley wasn't even active for the first 2 or 3 games.
People kind of mistake Williams for a 3rd round draft pick and slot him behind Escobar in the hierarchy, but the Cowboys made it clear that they had Williams higher up, but they thought they could get him in the 3rd and they didn't think they could get Escobar in the 3rd.
If you call Williams your 2nd round draft pick and Escobar your 3rd round draft pick, I wonder if that would make people feel better.
This is why I supported the drafting of Frederick. We traded out of the mid-late 1st round and basically picked up two 2nd round draft picks (Frederick and Williams). I thought that was great value.
Escobar might not have a great season numbers wise. I'm completely willing to admit that and accept that, but I think going forward he is going to play a larger role in this offense, especially in years to come.
Not only have Williams and Beasley marginalized Escobar, but Murray not being able to stay healthy has also marginalized him. When we go 4 or 5 wide, that puts Escobar on the sideline (though you should notice when they still put him there in the redzone). Anyways, I know a lot of people have apprehension when it comes to drafting tight ends early, but as I said before our base offense is 2 TE, just with the advent of our receivers we've gone towards more 3-4 WR looks.
Good stuff.
I agree and think that its nice to be able to slowing bring Escobar into the offense. Its not like the Cowboys are badly in need of a quality TE with Witten still playing at a high level.
