Anyone think Romo will make the walk in Canton?

I know this one is way out there, but it's fun to see what people think Romo's career will look like in the end.

Tony Romo

Time isn't on Romo's side. At 27, Romo will only be in his second year as a starter, making any thought of a run toward the top of the career passing charts extremely unlikely. Then there's the possibility that opponents were starting to figure him out toward the end of last season, when he produced a few clunker performances. But unlike JaMarcus Russell and Quinn, Romo is piloting a competitive team. It will take multiple Super Bowl victories, however, for him to become part of any serious Canton discussion.

That's a long freakin' way.......................Dallas to Ohio? I'd venture to say he'd fly. Goin' out on a limb here.

He'd have to win multiple super bowls to even have a chance. He's getting started late in his career...doesn't help his stats or the amount of time in which he would have to accomplish so much. Very doubtful.

If he wins a couple Super Bowls and has 7+ seasons of ~3500 passing yards, he could be in contention.

But that goes for any QB, not just Romo.

As stated, he is going to have to have couple of SB wins and some great seasons for consideration. Otherwise, he'll only be there as a spectator.

Right now I'd be happy with a long term contract for Tony, Canton will have to wait.

He'd have to have a hell of a career just to equal Bledsoe's or Vinny's numbers, and they ain't getting in. The short route? Two Super Bowl victories, minimum.

I will just say that as history goes down I think he will be one of the most popular players to ever wear a Cowboys uniform.

With a couple of Super Bowls he will be looked on more favorably than Aikman and almost up there with Staubach.

Wild prediction I know, but he is so liked already that with a couple of Super Bowls this guy will be more marketable than Peyton Manning.

He has to win the Super Bowls though, otherwise his career is going to be comparable to Danny White.(Started late, played well, just not good enough to win it all)

I'll bite. If he stays healthy, I think he'll go to multiple pro bowls, and I'm homerific.

To make the HoF, the team would need to win a few Superbowls, though. Of the active QBs, Favre, Manning, and Brady all make it. He won't have numbers to match Favre or Manning no matter what he does, so it means he'll have to be the principle force in getting at least two Lombardi's while putting up very good numbers the next 6 or so years. What are the chances of that? Pretty slim I would think.

I can't even believe anyone would speculate over something like this so early in the game. I don't even think there has been enough playing time under his belt to even remotely consider it.

The way I see it. As long as he beats Washington he should be first ballot Hall of Fame. Of course thats not hard to do, it's just the principal of it.

I don't think Tony can make the Hall.. even with a couple of SB wins. I just think he got started to late. But I do agree that if he does win a couple of SB pretty quickly from now.. he will make a ton of money with endorsements.

First come the trophies, then the acceptance speech.

We've got a terminal case of people wanting to predict the future (or at least ask far-fetched questions) around here lately.

He wins three super bowls in a 4 years , he will have a shot. Otherwise he doesn't have the stats....

Kurt Warner will go in before Romo will...

Far-fetched is legit in certain circles. It stimulates the mind to think "Out of the box",but I guess some of you would rather stay in it!:cool:Theworld is not always safe,so buckle up and wear clean underwear.

At his age, its not unprecedented, and even with that, it wasn't a multiple Superbowl winner. If by some miracle he can keep up the rate he started out at before he had to play catch up in those late games, he could wind up like Steve Young. Long shot, but its been done before.

I think Romo needs to outplay Manning and Brady to have a shot at the HOF. Yes, he needs 6-8 years of at least 3500 yards, and yes, Super Bowls would help. But he's got 2 contemporaries who are locks for the HOF that he's competing with directly. If he takes a few MVPs with him on the way to those SB trophies, he's got a shot.

I would be happy with 3,500 yards, 20 TDs, 10 INTs and playoff victory, btw. But, hell, aim high, Tony!
