Apocalyptic nightmare brewing for Jerry

Timing is everything in the NFL.

Packers with Aaron Rodgers are a super-scary team when you consider how dominating their running game is. Without Aaron Rodgers and they are a bottom 5-7 team.

Of course the Giants will get the Packers without Aaron Rodgers this week and the Cowboys will get the Packers with Aaron Rodgers.

So what should we want... Packers beat NY and help us out, or lose and then lose some more in hopes they fall out of contention and shelve Rodgers for the rest of the year (and our game)?

He was trying to rent a car and they just cut them up in front of him, told him to pay his bills.

Gives me the chills just thinking about it. What a tragic day.

nice post ERod.

If the NYG ever win this division after starting 0-6, Jerry wont know what to do. He'll be spinning things for all off season.

You guys think the credit card story is bad.

A few weeks ago on special edition he sat there and talked to mickey for the whole segment about his art collection at home and his friends art collection and how he is bringing some of his own art to put in the stadium this year.

I wanted to puke. I haven't watched special edition since.

I don't even want to watch this football season anymore, there are so many better things to be doing.

Actually, the worst case scenario will be when the Giants or Eagles win this division and somehow win a playoff game or two, and Jerry spins it to "see we were close to that."

He talks about the 2011 Giants at every turn. "That could have been us, if we had won that last ballgame." Sure, it could have been, Jethro. You keep believing that.

Dallas 5-6
Philly 5-6
New York 5-6
Washington 5-6

This, after the Giants started 0-6, Washington 1-4, and Philly 1-3.

If that happens, and it is looking very likely, all I can do is laugh. That would just beat me down so much as a fan I couldn't even get angry. I couldn't even defend the team in any way. It would just be a sad performance from a franchise at it's lowest point wallowing in cap hell. Perfect time to drag Chucky from the booth and throw barn full of cash at him to turn things around and pretend things have improved for three more years.

Right not Chip Kelly is outcoaching Garrett, Foles is out playing Romo, and that racist piece of crap is showing Dez up.

I hear rumblings that Austin coming back will give the offense a spark, I also hear Dunbar is our Sproles and Escobar is our Hernandez.

The only silver lining is who ever wins the East is not winning a playoff game.

Then next week, the Giants beat Dallas in New York, and the Commanders beat San Fran in Washington....not as doable, but conceivable.

.

Dallas beating NY is more conceivable/doable than Commanders beating SF.

I somehow doubt it would make a large enough impression to make him swallow his pride and hire his replacement.

All of this is very possible. 3 and 1/2 half years of .500 football is MORE than enough of a sample to see we have a .500 football coaching staff.

Right now , it looks like we should be happy to see.500 football, looks like we are falling down , so bad, even that's doubtful.

I don't see us winning the division unless Lee comes back soon and is reasonably healthy when he comes back. He's not perfect, but he's really good and he covers up for a lot of mistakes, particularly for Church who looks a bit Tony Dixon-ish out there. I've spotted times on the All-22 where I'm about 90% positive that Church was supposed to take a WR and Lee ends up having to take the WR instead. Lee is really good at making those type of botched assignments not look like glaring mistakes so the offense doesn't always take advantage of it.

The counter to the loss of Lee and the state of the defense would be to have a great offense that could load up points. But, we don't have it. Romo looks like he's just about finished. What's really bad is that we keep going to the empty backfield formation and I have yet to see Romo in that formation where he could step into his throw nicely. And it's not the O-Line either. That's a formation where you have to have a QB that can move around just enough and fire the ball because the defense is going to bring more pass rushers than blockers. Romo can't do that anymore. And yet we keep going to empty backfield. And I've seen Romo audilble into that. So it's not just the coaches. Romo checks us into that play and Garrett and Callahan either don't have the gumption or are too afraid to tell him to stop doing that.

The real nightmare here is that unless we have a dramatic turnaround from Romo, we are looking at some bad teams for at least thru 2015. Last year Romo looked sluggish in the first half of the season. But, he really turned it around nicely in the second half and played as well as he ever played.

However, this reminds me a bit of Michael Jordan when he came out of retirement to play for the Wizards. You would see glimpses of his old self, maybe for a game or two, but father time got to him and he simply could not put good games together.

I fear we are seeing the same with Romo. Those struggles in the 1st half in 2012 are carrying over into 2013. This time, I just don't see him turning it around in the 2nd half of the season. And from there, it's likely to be a complete regression. Maybe a new coach could come in and devise better schemes and playcalling (I have more issues with the playcalling than the scheme) and rejuvenate Romo. But, I feel that coach is going to see the issues I see with Romo. A QB that is afraid to pull the trigger, his velocity is off, his footwork has worsened and he not nearly as accurate as he once was.

I agree with everything you posted. I've been noticing the same things as you have even in the Denver game everyone seems to throw at posts like this. Its just most people don't want to fathom the thought of the one guy who we were sure at is regressing physically and mentally is now locked in long term for years.

Look back for a moment at the hissy fit Jerry had after watching little Danny ride away with Jerry's home playoff game purse in the season finale last year. All that talk of "uncomfortable", firing staff, including coach's brothers, yanking playcalling duties, and rehiring dudes older than himself.

Now, imagine this scenario playing out over the next 10 days.

This Sunday, Washington beats Philly, and New York beats Green Bay without Rodgers.....quite doable.

Then next week, the Giants beat Dallas in New York, and the Commanders beat San Fran in Washington....not as doable, but conceivable.

Your NFC East standings would be:

Dallas 5-6
Philly 5-6
New York 5-6
Washington 5-6

This, after the Giants started 0-6, Washington 1-4, and Philly 1-3. The Cowboys would have perhaps the toughest schedule remaining of the four, and could finish dead last.

Jerry would need therapy, and perhaps even more plastic surgery.

Maybe some good would come out of it. Maybe Jerry would do the team and all of us a favor and SELL THE TEAM.

Giants were 6-3 last year at this time and we were 3-6 and they blew it so I am not Suprised by anything to be honest.

The issue is the jones family will be hiring the replacement so it doesn't matter who the coach is.

I do not see that ever happening.

They have a firm grip on this team for generations. Ever noticed the grandsons in his press box?
