You should put a disclosure in your signature that you have an anti-Romo agenda.I don't see us winning the division unless Lee comes back soon and is reasonably healthy when he comes back. He's not perfect, but he's really good and he covers up for a lot of mistakes, particularly for Church who looks a bit Tony Dixon-ish out there. I've spotted times on the All-22 where I'm about 90% positive that Church was supposed to take a WR and Lee ends up having to take the WR instead. Lee is really good at making those type of botched assignments not look like glaring mistakes so the offense doesn't always take advantage of it.
The counter to the loss of Lee and the state of the defense would be to have a great offense that could load up points. But, we don't have it. Romo looks like he's just about finished. What's really bad is that we keep going to the empty backfield formation and I have yet to see Romo in that formation where he could step into his throw nicely. And it's not the O-Line either. That's a formation where you have to have a QB that can move around just enough and fire the ball because the defense is going to bring more pass rushers than blockers. Romo can't do that anymore. And yet we keep going to empty backfield. And I've seen Romo audilble into that. So it's not just the coaches. Romo checks us into that play and Garrett and Callahan either don't have the gumption or are too afraid to tell him to stop doing that.
The real nightmare here is that unless we have a dramatic turnaround from Romo, we are looking at some bad teams for at least thru 2015. Last year Romo looked sluggish in the first half of the season. But, he really turned it around nicely in the second half and played as well as he ever played.
However, this reminds me a bit of Michael Jordan when he came out of retirement to play for the Wizards. You would see glimpses of his old self, maybe for a game or two, but father time got to him and he simply could not put good games together.
I fear we are seeing the same with Romo. Those struggles in the 1st half in 2012 are carrying over into 2013. This time, I just don't see him turning it around in the 2nd half of the season. And from there, it's likely to be a complete regression. Maybe a new coach could come in and devise better schemes and playcalling (I have more issues with the playcalling than the scheme) and rejuvenate Romo. But, I feel that coach is going to see the issues I see with Romo. A QB that is afraid to pull the trigger, his velocity is off, his footwork has worsened and he not nearly as accurate as he once was.

If you say that Romo is bad every year, eventually you'll be correct.
