Not trading makes it much more challenging and it's much harder to be happy with your picks I had trouble getting some positions I wanted. I'll do another one with the ability to trade later today.

16 WR MIKE EVANS Pure value pick
TEXAS A&M

47 DE SCOTT CRICHTON Value + need pretty simple pick for me
OREGON STATE

78 DT KELCY QUARLES I haven't been that high in him, but Mayock loves him and I do like Mayock. Passed over Billy Turner and that hurt
SOUTH CAROLINA

119 DT CARAUN REID Oline and DE flew off the board after Quarles, board really got bare quick WR's fell, could have gone RB
PRINCETON

158 CB BENNETT JACKSON CB Depth good vs bigger WR's
NOTRE DAME

229 C JAMES STONE Depth guy that can take snaps if we need him too, not alot of upside
TENNESSEE

231 S DEZMEN SOUTHWARD
WISCONSIN

238 DE AARON LYNCH
USF

248 CB CARRINGTON BYNDOM
TEXAS

251 FB TREY MILLARD
OKLAHOMA

254 S JAMEA THOMAS
GEORGIA TECH

As would I. Good mock. If Evans is there at 16 and Donald is gone, we should take him. Problem is I don't see him falling to 16

I would be nervous as heck if they took Evans in the first, since I wouldn't know at that point that they would pick DL like you did...in hindsight, I like this draft...but I would be sick with worry until Crichton got selected

Top 4 plus Lynch and Millard are very good.

They really need an OG with upside. They have Zero backup OGs on the roster. Maybe you could get Trai Turner at #158.

The team roster at their website has three guards under contract.

Chris DeGeare is the third guard. Will we need four more for training camp or even OTAs?

If Donald and Manziel are gone by 16 and we don't trade back (my next choice) from 16, I'd prefer to take the best OT available, the Martin from ND or Lewan from Michigan…if not them take a flyer on DTs Nix or Hageman. I like the idea of building up the trenches, esp considering what value is likely to be there at 16.

Take Kaly at one. We are strong at the WR position.
Compare that to the Dline?

I hated taking Evans for the very reason I was so worried about the dline. The value was just too different to ignore. Evans was the 8th best player on the board I don't think he'd ever make it that far, but he did in this

I was nervous and ultimately it cost me getting help on the oline because I was so worried about the Dline. I didn't reach (going by my board)

If I was allowing myself to trade back it would have been a good time to do it, Lewan was long gone Martin was available.

Turner was gone at 158, my big surprise was the lack of oline at 119. I just could not find a place to get Oline help Crighton was very good value and need, my best shot was in the 3rd and If I had it to do over I'd probably have gone oline there, I just felt someone would fall through to the 4th.

@Tobal, go into the draft forum and get in the NFL Draft Spreadsheet thread (stickied); you can enter your full list in there (see link in post #19) and help create the CZ Big Board

I dont like it but would not be surprised in the least if the cowboys go WR in rd 1

they will then reach for DL in rd 2 and 3 and pick players much higher than value just becasue that is the need

my preference in this scenario (with Evans or one of the QBs available- except bridgewater) would be to try and trade down and let the board come to me

Yes, for training camp. I think they may be planning to try Weems at OG also.

They will have between 12 and 14 total OL for training camp.

In that scenario, are you seeing Evans being paired up with Dez or eventually replacing him (i.e. trade, etc.)?

I'm trying to keep Dez, my window with Tony is shrinking quickly I'm not trying to ship young talent off...but this does give me some options. In reality if I was running the draft I'd hope someone wanted Evans and was willing to give me a fair value for him.
