Arbitrator found NFL encouraged teams to collude regarding guaranteed contracts

”too much trouble”

Kind of like “shut up and dribble”

I understand you a bit better now. Thanks for clarifying
Actually, if you make profound conclusions from that, I understand you a little bit better now.

Kind of like "If you don't let me do what I want I'm not going to play."

We all have to make sacrifices to have a good life, to work, to marry. People who think they can just do what they want no matter what end up in prison or a hobo camp or something like that.

Absolutely wasn't. He's an idiot who did it to himself. If a player is too much trouble and isn't that good to begin w/, teams won't mess w/ him. Simple stuff.

If Lamarr Jackson pulled the same trash, teams would still be lining up to sign him.
Why did the NFL settle with Reid and Kap?

Not a big surprise, but I would imagine this works both ways with agents and players too.

I have no problem with the NFL "encouraging" teams on guaranteed contracts. But there is a difference between encouragement and actual collusion. Given some of the contracts that have been handed out since the Watson deal, my guess is teams did not head the NFL's encouragement. Just because there have no been anymore full guaranteed gargantuan contracts does not mean there was collusion. The Brown's deal with Watson was the height of dumbness. I am sure every other team in the league was smacking their head in bewilderment.
This cannot be emphasized enough. The Browns operated outside of any rational person's boundaries for that contract. It was monumentally stupid in a way that more or less bucked 30 years of how NFL teams operated since the implementation of free agency.

I think it's a tough sell to say "collusion" when their individual interests align without ANY sort of script to follow. Teams don't like paying for players who aren't producing. Guaranteed money inevitably makes that a reality.

Dashawn Watson’s guaranteed contract opened Pandora’s box. The NFL has always controlled the contracts of players. I am shocked that Mahomes has not passed Dak in salary this offseason.
He cares too much about winning. He makes plenty, why not save some to consistently field great teams?

I never claimed to have read the article. I merely posted a fact about the guy.

Was that fact wrong?......

BTW., I heard this dude in now writing his "memoirs", so unless California schools add it to their required reading list, it should be available on Amazon for .99 cents very soon on the bargain basement bin
So, you’re saying you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Got it.

Omg. That didn’t take long.
No sense waiting.....the books out on that guy and no amount of tears can revise history.

He was good in the beginning

He became an INT machine

He saw a future in activism instead of football.....and is now irrelevant

End of story

Football is a business. Mahomes is probably the most underpaid player in the history of the sport. Mahomes is not just a great player, he is a role model for everyone. He is basically Dak’s CEO personality combined with talent of prime Aaron Rodgers. These football teams are worth on the average now of 8 billion dollars.

Stop defending the greedy owners. This is America if a team wants to give Mahomes $70 million a season so be it.

More like, stop defending either the greedy owners or the greedy players.

Exactly.

The flimsy “too much trouble” falls flat when you bring out any number examples from Mike Vick, DeShaun Watson, et cetera, including guys that didn’t get in trouble but have just flat out sucked like Malik Willis, Drew Lock, Josh Dobbs, et cetera.
Until it starts costing a business money, then the flimsy goes the other way.

Guys that suck don't cost you money, guys that PO fans cost you money. This really is so less complicated than you're trying to make it.

He threw for 16 TDs/4 INTs his last year in the league.

Luuulz, you’re just a guy with hurt feelings, not facts.

“I DidnT sAy i r3ad the aRtickle did I?!?[heeeehaaaaw] So tHe jOkez on you!”
Im addressing Kaeperpick and you keep addressing me instead.

Saul Alinski 101, comrade

Just wait for the failures " memoir " book to be published.

He only played 2 FULL seasons and now has 8 whole years afterwards of accomplishing exactly nothing.

Should get on the New York Times bestseller list for a book nobody will read.

I will give him and his attorneys credit for shaking down a major corporation known as the NFL though.....it would make Jesse and Al envious

Ooof, bro. And this isn't your first rodeo of this kind either. Emotion is a dastardly thing.
Its important to determine WHICH article one is referencing.

Jumping to conclusions isn't the first rodeo for some here as well.
