The should have stuck Cassel in when the game was lost to give him some reps.
The Cowboys defense had problems because of the Cowboys offense:
Punt, 3 plays, 2 yards, 1:02
Punt, 3 plays, -2 yards, 2:15
Field Goal, 10 plays, 47 yards, 6:33
Punt, 3 plays, 9 yards, 1:30
Punt, 3 plays, 5 yards, 2:42
Punt, 3 plays, 5 yards, 1:39
Punt, 3 plays, -1 yard, 0:19
End of Half, 1 play, -1 yard, 0:03
Field Goal, 15 plays, 75 yards, 8:31
Interception, 7 plays, 28 yards, 3:22
Turnover on Downs, 13 plays, 74 yards, 3:21
Both are at fault. Defense has been lousy stopping 3rd down conversions, we do not get turnovers. vs Alt we could not stop the run game to save our lives as Freeman went off for 141. It was unfortunate that key injuries were on offense and defense because from what I have seen over the years is when a starting QB is down the offense does rely on the defense much more because things are not going to run smooth and getting points becomes much harder. I would say out of all the injuries the hardest one to overcome not just in Dallas but across the NFL is QB
Yes, both have been at fault; however, no defense is going to hold up against the Patriots with this type of offensive performance.
The defense had the most issues in the Falcons game but there were very short handed with Mincey out and having just lost T. McClain. They even tried the LB Wilson (6', 240) at DE on some snaps in that game.

That's patently false.
Not even close to being true other than you always want pressure if you can get it.

some people really do not understand football.in the Atlanta game they collapsed. in NO game they collapsed. in the NE game they collapsed. all in the 2nd half. a dominant defense is a dominant defense, is a dominant defense. we have been a dominant defense for the first two quarters only. unfortunately the games are 4 quarters.
some people really do not understand football.
Against NE the D gave up what 13 second half points all in the 4th quarter after wearing down and you say they collapsed.
Anyone who watched that Patriots game and thought the Cowboys didn't have a tremendous defensive effort..... don't really know what to say to them other than keep watching football.

We'll play more zone against NY. With our improved pass rush, we'll bracket OBJ and play zone to take away the underneath stuff. Just like the Eagles did.
We wanted to man up on NE because of the size of their receivers and how fast Brady gets the ball out. Our pass rush with Hardy/Gregory is better than Philly. We'll see a lot of zone, and a lot of turnovers.
I predict 3 turnovers against the Giants. Lee will have 1.
Its so nice for some fans on here, such as yourself, to admit they do not understand football. That's what's great about the zone. You can pickup a lot of useful info on here, the nuances of the game, the X's and O's, player development, etc.... Bravo to you sir, and keep learning!some people really do not understand football.
.
they gave up 17. the first two TDs were 80 yard TD drives and the gave was pretty much wrapped up and NE played conservatively.
against Atlanta? 17 in the first half. 21 in the second.
against NO, 21 in the second half and first play of over time.
we have played well in the first half of games, but for some reason haven't played well in the second half, specially in the 4th quarter and crunch time. against NO, we gave up an easy TD, and with 30 second left, they marched down and tried a FG, which they luckily missed. followed by an easy 80 yard TD pass in over time.
so do we want to say its because we had people missing. injuries. etc. and come up with a list of excuses for defenses, yet the same doesn't get applied to offense. my point. it goes both ways. and we can't exclude lack of play from the defense. we allow 42% 3rd down conversion rate. that's horrible. that allows teams to continue their drives. the defenses job is to get off the field. they haven't shown they can do that consistently.
You're sitting here wondering why our defense has poor performances in the second half of games, and everyone is trying to give you the answer. You don't like the answer, so you keep rambling on and on.
This confuses me. The defense sucks in the second half because of being TIRED. Not some voodoo "anti-clutch" magic. These are human beings, not robots. I don't care how in shape or conditioned someone is; at a certain point, their body cannot continue playing with such relentless vigor.
In the first half, they were very good. But without offensive support, the second half was not all that special. They will need to put a whole game together, like they did at Philadelphia.
Bringing back Gregory, plus Hardy will help a lot. They really need the secondary, namely the safeties to do their jobs. This will be really important if the Giants do what they did not stick with against the Eagles, which was feature their tight ends.
