I agree with Archer about the Defense. They have disapeared a few times this season in the second half. Being gassed doesnt help, but I am inclined to think its more about opposing coaches beating our schemes.....

I'm pretty tough on the defense usually, because it's been getting us beat for years now, but last weeks 30 points were given up in a good defensive effort.

The picks have more to do with bad hands or a lack of hustle than they do with man coverage. There have been turnovers there for the taking in every game, including two big ones v. New England.

You mean the DBs have hands of stone. They need to spend time on the jug. This is an old story and predates the current personnel.

Where's Bennie Barnes when you need him?

It's hard to play zone against a QB like Brady and an offense like the Patriots. And it's hard to play zone when you can't get pressure on the QB.

^ this. It should change pretty soon with Hardy & Gregory in the mix.

I think the way to play Eli is to try and get him out of the pocket and to take away the short dink-n-dunk stuff.

SF did well to move him out of the pocket, but they left short, easy passes wide open.

The Eagles struggled early on everything, but then they finally took away the short, easy passes.

I think with Crawford and Hardy we'll need to get some pressure from the inside to help flush Eli out. Hardy could get some time at DT on passing downs leaving us with Lawrence and Gregory at the DE. And of course, Crawford can reek havoc on 1st and 2nd down.

Like you said, if we can get more pressure, that means more zone coverage in between the numbers and hopefully more interceptions.
