Good to see the new mix. Agree that we draft RB.

Will miss Murray, but have faith that our line can open holes for one of these guys to produce 1000 to 1300 yards for us, and hopefully improve on pass protection when needed for Tony.
Hope we can be better in 2015. The offensive line will have played together one more year, and all 3 top OL are young. Think they will get better and better.:yourock:

The reason you let the leading rusher in the NFL go is because you have something else in mind and almost certain it can be done. That would be AP. The Cowboys are obviously a running team, period. They are not going to entrust the workhorse job to any of the RBs on the roster right now. And I said workhorse, because RBBC approach is not going to work here. Garrett is going back to the powerhouse 90's teams as the mold, and he is getting his blocking FB and looking for his I-back. At least for the remaining Romo years.

Even though, I would not give up a draft pick for Petersen, I would not be surprised if the Cowboys would offer as high as a 4th round pick for AP prior to the draft just to be safe.

Murray will be missed. If our coaches, put trust, faith and patience into the next group of runners, I think this team will rush for 2000 yards.

Considering McFadden's passblocking ability (something he offers that the others can't) and also his knack for receiving, he may very well be destined to serve as our 3rd down back. It's a role that he's apparently suited to.

The problem with Randle is he's one french fry short of a happy meal in the common sense department. The problem with Dunbar is while he is fast and a tad shifty anyone who touches him knocks him down. He has zero power to speak of. I think there are lots of running backs who are better then both who can excel with our line. I think there are probably 6 running backs in the draft who have the talent to do well. I'm a simple guy. Draft the smartest one out of the 6. Tired of dealing with knuckleheads.

The team has set the table to part ways with both Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar in favor of Darren McFadden and Ryan Williams.

I get some of my best ideas on Twitter. In the discussions there with a variety of people, questions are raised, ideas are tossed out, and critiques flow in from a variety of sources both knowledgeable and not so well informed. The rapid fire exchanges are a great way to shake up thoughts and make you take a look at things from a different angle as well as get valuable input that had not occurred to you.

Now that I've completed my self-serving and heavy-handed hint to you to follow my Twitter account, here are some thoughts I have had lately.

The Cowboys went through the 2014 season with DeMarco Murray, Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar as their running back corps, with Tyler Clutts as fullback. We are all quite aware of what happened with Murray. Either as a result of his dominating performance, or a major contributing factor to it, neither Randle nor Dunbar played much of a role during the season. There are claims that the team has a severe lack of trust in Randle, compounded by the investigation by both law enforcement and the NFL into the domestic violence incident still hanging over his head. Dunbar just seems to inspire little confidence from either the coaches or Tony Romo on the field.

Remake? Guess Cowboys were not satisfied with the RB corps production. Jerry and lil Stevie must have bought into the run to darkness garbage and fumbles overexaggeration.

Wpuld not surprise me one bit if game 1 the RBs are Rookie RB, McFadden, Williams. However, if Gurley is the pick at 27 like many people (including myself) want, it would probably be Randle, McFadden and Williams.

I disagree. Murray pushed to get all of the carries and Garrett obliges the veteran leaders on the team. Witten plays 100% of the snaps which is often not necessary. How long did it take for Garrett to stop Romo from doing whatever he wanted and inaudibling out of run plays. Think about the final game of the season where the starters played deep into a blowout win and was a meaningless game. That happened because guys like Murray and Witten didn't want to come out of the game.

So Murray had same clout as Romo regarding touches and play calling? You make it seem like Linehan, Callahan as well as Garrett let the patients run the asylum.

Most of us already knew that Murray would be gone, the biggest heartbreaking thing for me is seeing him with Philly. Truth is you don't invest 3 first round picks on the OL to turn around and guarantee 20 million to a GOOD back with huge glaring flaws.

Not touches in terms of run/pass, but snaps played relative to the backups.

If they can get him with a cap friendly deal for that I'm all in...
