Are Cowboys putting on a show for QB at 4?

This is the best article I've read so far that convinces me we are not taking a QB at 4. Even though I want us to take one at 4, I am resigned that we are not. We have been too public in all of our meetings with QBs. It is transparent. Meanwhile, we have said virtually nothing about our meetings with Bosa, and in fact, have shrouded them with simultaneous meetings with other Ohio State players, like Ezekiel Elliot and Cardale Jones. Then, we have Leon Lett talk Bosa down in the press. Would be too transparent if Jones or Garrett talked Bosa down, so they have a "rogue" position coach make a public "mistake" and do it. I now firmly believe our pick will be Bosa (I am assuming Ramsey will be gone) and not a QB. Calling my shot...

There is only so much you can do to show your hand with the fourth overall pick. I think Dallas has sincere interest in taking a QB, but I think they also like some other players. I feel like there may be one quarterback they want more and if he's there, they'll take him.

Nope.they want a QB but i think they dont want to use a 4th pick to get one but if they like all 3 QBs then its time to pick one at 4.

Well, Ben Bloom would be Bosa's position coach, so Bloom could think he's awesome.

(unless Bloom moved on this offseason and I missed it)

I think it's Bosa too, or at least one of the DE if they trade down. The gaping hole at DE has to be an immediate concern. I'm sure QB is on the short list of concerns, but they'd rather go with a guy in Day 2 or kick it down the road another year. Worst comes to worst and Romo has another injury, the Cowboys can always send a pick New England's way and grab Jimmy Garoppolo.

They also would want the QBs to have maximum value for any potential trade or to egg teams into trading ahead of the Cowboys.

So when the season ended, everybody in the entire organization from Jerry to Steven to Garrett to the janitor all said QB was the biggest need this offseason.

The team proceeded to do absolutely nothing in free agency to address the issue that was the so called "biggest need of the offseason".

Now all of a sudden, they realized they were all wrong and despite throwing 6 picks, Kellen freaking Moore was the answer to their prayers all along? No need to do a dam thing, QB position is good to go despite going 1-11 without Romo. This is what you guys are telling me is what is happening?

If true, Jerry, Steven, and Garrett are about as dumb as a bag of rocks if they go into the season with nothing behind Romo but Moore and some 3rd-5th round rookie developmental scrub. To rest the entire season once again on Romo not getting hurt is not only indefensible, but totally incompentent as well.

Well, they better get it right with these QBs now that they have (or had) the chance to get one of them.

If you follow Broddus and somewhat read between the lines, he seems to think the only QB they take at #4 is Goff. Thinks they pass on Wentz if he is there. If Goff is gone, top pick becomes Ramsey, if both are gone, then a discussion between Bosa/Zeke if they stay. So Wentz/Lynch would only be the pick in a trade down scenario.

Like any organization, they are trying to cover all of their bases. Let's say a team like the Ravens offers them their 6th overall and 2nd round pick for our 4th overall...it would be tough not to take it. Better be able to adjust and know all of the possible players so you can take advantage of that trade.

The Cowboys better not trade down beyond 5 or 6 if they want Wentz then. San Fran or the Eagles will snap him up.

Yep
Just preparing for everything. Personally I think they would take a QB at 4 if the one they wanted was there but they see that's not likely. You really have to be ready for many possibilities

It was a little ironic that when Romo talked to reporters the other day about he had been throwing for a couple of weeks, Jerry and the gang were in Cali watching Goff. Coincidence?
