Are fans ready to accept the Micah trade devasted our defense?

Big time game for Parsons yesterday. Reading a report of the game (which I have not watched yet) he was the difference maker with 3 sacks and constantly collapsing the pocket.

I'm still so annoyed he was traded, I'm convinced if we had kept him we would be talking about a deep playoff run.
The Cardinals are one of the worst teams in the league and were playing their backup QB Brisket who stinks. Yet the game was competitive.

Yes, Parsons got his stats and played well against a basement dwelling team.

Just providing some context.

I disagree. Without Parsons, Green Bay would have lost this week.

This is a rare season, when if you can get in the play-offs you have a shot. Yes an infusion of talent is needed but there are no dominant teams. Our DEF scheme, talent etc is poor and needs upgrading. But when you have an offense like ours, you have a shot to win each week. Say what you like about Parsons, but he is a difference maker, a rare talent that GM's want on their team.

This has been a week in my opinion that moves the needle towards 'we should have kept Parsons'. Maybe by the end of the season it will be different. But watching Dak, I think we should have been all in and by that I mean extending Parsons.
I respectfully disagree.

I don’t think this is a rare season, it’s just early. The NFC has been streaky for years now, and our team failed to capitalize due to poor defense- a defense Parsons was part of.

I think it’s fair to feel like losing Parsons was a mistake this week. But I don’t think it’s a good idea to judge the success of the trade on a week to week basis when the trade was centered around long term acquisition and cap flexibility.

GB was always supposed to have short term success. That was their trade off.

That’s not context. That’s special pleading in effort to diminish what he did.

Lame as hell.

Yeah, you can see this team fails to generate consistent pass rush.

Do t be fooled because some of our blitzes got through. When you are forced to blitz you are compromising the defense.

Let’s not also forget our run defense continues to be bad.

We still would have needed more than just Micah. Our LBs suck and safety and more than half of our DBs. Micah couldn't save this Defense.

Cowboys fans: Nah, we don't need any of this. Clowney got off the couch and got us a sack after 5 weeks. We good!
The Cowboys got 4 sacks against a better team and better OL on that same day. The Cowboys also got a pick 6 due to pressure.

Pressures are pretty meaningless unless the net result leads to a negative play for the offense.

Fair enough.

But we have mis-evaluated the trade. Firstly Jerry in my opinion wanted him gone from training camp onwards possibly before. The long term acquisition and cap flexibility although correct is a secondary argument put forward. If Jerry had not fallen out with him, he would be here.

Right now are Green Bay better than us? I'm not sure that they are. We have the offense they have the defense. We can win the NFC East, it is between us and the Eagles. In the playoffs we would have a shot .

We should be having the short term success.
We have the QB.

This argument may well become redundant in the weeks to come.
While I am happy with the outcome and improvement show yesterday by the defense. I am not buying that they really improved. I think they were able to scheme against an inferior team with many holes and a sophomore QB (sorry I don't buy the Daniels hype either) and could pin their ears back with nobody there to make them pay. (Daniels missed wide open WR and WR dropped several balls that would have extended drives and assured more scores).

Sacks came from missed assignments and blitzes, not from the front 4 dominating. Off top of my head at least 2 sacks the guy rushing was essentially untouched. They were also playing from a large lead almost the entire game and the Commanders literally had guys off the street and the practice squad starting at WR.

Stop trying to erase Micah

You’re right.

It’s going to get cold & windy.

The teams flinging it everywhere now won’t look the same outdoors in December.

Our genius GM pouted his herpes infested lips and traded away our best defensive player ......... 8 days before the first regular season game.

And everyone blames Eberflus ..........
