I would say "God Decides" who Americas team is. Why he made a hole in the roof at Texas Stadium.

Only hole the Colts have is in Mannings head...

Does that mean God can't watch dome teams play? And if so, by that logic, doesn't that also mean God can't see any of us as long as there's a roof over our head?

Maybe I can become a serial killer and still go to heaven, as long as all my sins occur indoors!

The Cowboys are America's team. It is not a title that gets passed around.

You took the words right out of my mouth. ( Don't worry I forgive you. lol)

No other team will ever be America's Team.

Now normally I don't really care that the Cowboys are referred to as "America's Team". I don't get much pride out of it. It doesn't really matter much to me, and I don't use it in arguments with fans from other teams.

With that said....

Anyone can call themselves America's Team but when the name America's team is mentioned people know you are talking about the Dallas Cowboys. There are many imitations but there is only 1 true Americas Team

Every time a team has some success for a few years the question comes up whether they are the new "America's Team". The answer is... NO. The Cowboys ARE "America's Team" not because they won a few SBs but because they have more fans, in more areas than any other team, by a very large margin. The Cowboys even have more fans around the world than any other NFL team (or any US based team in any sport for that matter). That is what makes us America's Team.

A while ago it was the 49ERs, then the Packers, then the Broncos, then the Patriots, etc. Every couple of years it is another team that is hoisted up the flagpole as the new "America's Team" but they never last. Dallas has lasted for over 30 years in that role and will continue.

The Colts are this year's pretenders to the title but they will go the same way as all the others.

The Colts are just the latest bandwagon being pulled down Main Street USA.

However, if the Patriots couldn't take the moniker from the Cowboys (at a time of world conflict, no less), then no one ever will, IMO.

Given that I am not from the United States, I can say that the tittle of "America's" team is not something you can grab or pass around from team to team. It is someting more than that, something that is a legacy, and a tradition.

I dont think the colts are even NEAR being America's team. While they have been a top notch team for QUITE some time now, they have won nothing. New England with it's 3 super bowls has gathered a larger following, but then again, not americas team.

Teams like the Steelers, Raiders, and of course, the Cowboys, are teams that whether people like it or not, have a VERY large and broad userbase, all over the country, and on other countries as well.

In the specific case of the Cowboys, it is something special, the combination of all it's elements, make of the Cowboys a team different from the rest. I say this not because I am die-hard fan of the Cowboys, but because I see it. From the "picky name..... Dallas Cowboys" sounds just right, from the story of the hole in the roof of the stadium so that God can see us play.... form the BEST cheerleaders in the league, and their uniform, from the colors of the team, from the star as a our main logo.... a star...

This is very importart... A STAR... A star is a UNIVERSAL element, you see stars all over the world. Take somone from New York for exaple... do they relate to a JAGUAR? do they relate to a COLT, do they relate to a raider? no. Take for example a 49er.... the gold fever was in 1949 (correct me if i am wrong) but just in SF.... Most NFL teams have a logo according to their city or surroudings.. Yes.. there are jaguars, and bears, and cardinals, and eagles all over the world, but a star is a sing of hope, of magic, and something that everyone sees day by day. Call it luck, call it whatever yo uwant, but i bet you the cowboys wont be ever changing their logo and uniform ANY time soon. Many teams have needed to change their image, for either marketing reasons, be in style etc.

The Cowboys are America's team because they are the MOST popular team in PRO FOOTBALL in the world. Hated by many, loved by even more!

In closing, I would like to say, that is fill me with pride to say, that I have been a Dallas Cowboy fan for 25+ years. May our star shine always upon us. Whether we have good times or bad times, Americas team will be americas team.... simply the cowboys
