Interesting. If Morris really is a good blocker, maybe we go with split backs in our base offensive set and feature a bunch of veer action. Now THAT's innovation, baby!

Don't be cheeky. U of H had luck with the veer. it is for sporadic use, Mr. Snark

I see it as a commitment to run the football. They tried something they believed could work. RBBC. It didnt.

We are going to run the football. And were going to keep running the football..... and when those DBs and LBs creep in , mid 3rd qrt.....Romo to Dez will benefit.....game over. Formula = Playoffs.

Line up that talented Offensive Line, let them fire off the ball, and Run the Football..................a lot.

You have it wrong! Defense still wins championships, however, a ball control offense will help that a lot (don't turn the ball over)!

All these dreams will be shot, and our super backfield/OL will be staring at another 4 win season if Romo goes down again.

If I were a NFL defense, I'd look to knock out Tony early. Makes sense.

It makes sense for every NFL defense against every NFL team. A collarbone can withstand 7 pounds of pressure. If you can drive one into the ground, it's going to break. The fact that it happens relatively rarely indicates it's not all that easy to do.

Perhaps a nice Bordeaux...:)

Dear, dear lad. The oakie-flavor era is gone. Bordeaux is the Nehru Jacket of today. I must have you over for some capapies and port. Yes, I wrote "port." It is underrated, seriously sugary and 18% alcohol. It is unpretentious, like you, and never lets you down (again, like you).
I know you meant well, but we must get you back on the road to the future, not the past.;)

I think it worked pretty good. If you look at past seasons, we have really been a RBBC team for awhile. 2014 was a bit of an exception in that Murray was going for the record but the team kinda used him up to me.

Not at all. Not at all...

Maybe Pittsburgh with Bell and Williams.

And don't say Dallas who has a rookie who has never taken a NFL carry, a guy in McFadden that the pro-Elliott fans claimed wasn't very good and why we had to take Elliott and Morris, a cast off from Washington.

Blimey! I disdain RBBC. First and foremost (and primarily) that system is a hindrance to the Emmitt Smith type of slogger who needs to get in sync as the game goes on. Smith would slowly gain steam and by day's end has worked up his 100-yard output. Bloke, I have never been a running back, but i did watch "Brian's Song" and "the Longest yard" with the inimitable Adam Sandler, so perhaps the RBBC only serves to enable injuries (with start-and stop play), disrupt the running syncage and scatter the yardage so all of the RBs are spitting butter beans because they did not get to 100, but only 60 or so yards per game.
No, my brother. Smith spoiled me and I love the one-back strategy.

I do too but because there is so little effort to actually run a dominating run oriented Offense in todays NFL and because Emmitt Smiths don't grow on trees, it's the way the NFL is trending right now, IMO.

Oh how I wish that I had your level of refinement. Such a learned man...I await your invitation, sir! (BTW, what the hell are capapies?...again, my lack of refinement showing through)

Did he just compare RBBC to the GOAT? Really?

Would you rather have Le'Veon Bell or Ezekiel Elliott? I'd rather have Elliott.

Would I rather have Morris, McFadden, or DeAngelo Williams... Williams comes in 3rd here.

Actually, it pretty much did work... even with the terrible decision of going with Randle as the lead back.

The problem was the complete lack of passing game and the complete disdain that defenses could show the Dallas aerial attack. Put a healthy Romo and Dez in last year's offense and everything is completely different. What Dallas was doing on the ground would have been more than adequate.

Still, I was for drafting Elliott and I understand that the group we have now is going to be significantly better than last year's group. Ezekiel can be a very special back.

Well, if it did work, and we have the same guy on the roster and added Morris. Why fix something that aint broke? Why spend "those" kind of resources on something when there are some really big holes, especially on D????

I think the definition of "worked" can debated. I know the stats.....I know if Romo was healthy, we would've won more games. And I am behind DMC. Guy showed hustle, etc etc. I liked what we got there....

But even in the first game of the season. When Romo/Dez was there...... It just reminded me of the 8-8 teams. Everything about that game. I voiced it then, even during the game thread I believe.... Now the question is, can I correlate that "8-8 feel"(for lack of a better word/phrase) to the running game? Its a big leap to do that for sure; And although I think I have a strong argument, as with everything, there were probably other things going on as well.....

RBBC, just didn't seem to flow to me ......it seemed sporadic and chaotic and "forced", at times. Again with a healthy Romo we win more, then we lose.....but, I still don't think we were a strong team even with Romo......That's just my 2 cents.

I think we spent the pick on EE because people think he is going to be special. And I do believe we will see a commitment to the run more so then last year, in the hopes that the run game becomes our identity. And that success will feed everything else.....

That OL we have. Let them big boys fire off the ball. Get some. ---- Its a passing league for sure. Romo/Dez and company will get theirs. But only after the Running game is established...... we must force that LB to inch just a tad bit too much towards the LOS.
