It's funny that the same people in this video were calling the Cowboys Super Bowl contenders
this year. But I definitely agree with Canty in that this team finally has the proven coaching they've lacked for so long, and that talent is already there. Now they just need to keep what they have and add a few other pieces. And with quality coaching, I think the differences will be stark and noticeable.
I already say that they're the favorites to win a weak NFC East in 2020, and doing that puts you in the playoffs, step one to being a Super Bowl contender.
But I will add that Jason Garrett and staff drove this team to waste one of the most incredible opportunities for success that this team has ever seen.
- The division was terrible and theirs for the taking.
- Offensive production was great.
- Team health was incredibly good.
- Schedule was really, really, weak.
And despite all of that, Garrett managed to squander all of it to an 8-8 record. The stars will never align like that again.
But I will say that between player talent and coaching pedigree that this is a double digit win team today, barring losing Prescott or Cooper. And if you can do that, it means you're a Super Bowl contender in my book.
