Are The Cowboys "Media Darlings" Once Again?

While watching my daily fix of sports news last night I noticed something strange...all the mediots seem to love Dallas once again! When the subject was "who's the best team in the NFL" to a man-no matter what media outlet-everyone picked the 'Boys. Even the haters on ESPN (MeShawn, Cris Carter, etc) acknowledged after the decisive Green Bay victory that our beloved team is the cream of the crop! I really don't read too much into what these fools think but I found it interesting that after the Philly game most had us ranked maybe 3rd-5th in the league. What a difference a week makes! Keyshawn almost went as far as to say (actually he hinted) that Dallas could become this season's version of the 07 Patsies (w/out the end result I hope ;) ) and looks strong enough to *cough* run the table *cough*!! I wonder how quickly they'll jump off the bandwagon if/when we drop a game somewhere down the line...

Their opinion has no effect on wins and losses. They'll switch their opinions up as soon as the wind changes - if it does. They just go with the flow.

Yeah, the say that the Cowboys are the best in the league, but always with the same qualifier.

"They just haven't shown that they have won something like the Colts and Patriots" It's a sarcastic winning season. They'll be so ticked if it actually happens.

It is a setup to overhype the possibility of a perfect season, just to later be amazed at how wrong they were. They'll respond with the usual tactic of ranking the Cowboys at #32 for the week, as a response for not meeting their sarcastic expectation.

Dallas still has to play Philly, Giants and Commanders on the road, and none of those games are easy, even when the other NFC team. It will be a tough road, and some very good games.

We're the cream of the crop...till their next best thing comes along this weekend.

They're as wishy washy as it gets on this.

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Flavor of the week, but we're always a media darling.

Maybe if they are the media darlings Kleenex will lose stock points from all the people crying when they pick on us or don't flatter us.

Wait till our first loss, then everybody is going to say we are overrated, pretenders, choke under pressure, cant win the big one, will get beat in the first round, ect......

You know it is coming.

Yep. Just the natural progression of things in sports.

When any team does bad it's common that that team will be heavily critsized and vice versa. I'm not surpised. I really don't think the cowboys will run the table. That is a once in a lifetime achievement. It's just too damn difficult. With so much parity I just think it's impossible. The only ones to come close were the patriots. Noone else. I would love for the cowboys to run the table but I seriously doubt it will happen. Although I can't say I havn't dreamed about it.
