Bowl as we don't have a HC yet?

If JJ is basically committed to keeping the 34 as the base defense (and I am just taking his word for it for the time being), you'd think Ireland could easily pick out the type of players we need.

As for the offense, it's no secret we need help on the OL and some youth at WR. Unless we go completely West Coast offense or radically change our blocking schemes (i.e., Denver's), this shouldn't pose too much of a problem either.

I'm not saying it's a piece of cake, but basically, in Ireland we trust.

I don't think it is much of a disadvantage at this stage. Ireland will be able to furnish the info needed for the next HC and for all we know the next HC may be at the senior bowl right now looking at players

Ireland's there and just about every possible coaching candidate outside of college coaches and the coaches on the Super Bowl teams are there.

In other words, no we're not at a disadvantage.

No, we are at no greater disadvantage than any other year. We still have the worst GM in football calling the shots. Expect the draft to look like they did from 94-02 when Parcells wasn't here.

You mean when Jeff Ireland wasn't here running our scouting department?

I don't think Jeff Ireland has the stones to say no to Jerry. So look for bozo Jones to go off the board with some zany Quincy Carter, Tony Dixon picks. Can't wait until April 28, Jerry's picks are usually a 10 on the unintentional comedy scale.

What makes you think that?

The only one at a disadvantage at the Senior Bowl practices is the hot dog vendor. I bet his profit margin plunges without Bill munching on 10 Hebrew Nationals a day.

Basically, I have no faith in Jerry. If jerry wants to go off the reservation on draft day and Ireland wants to stick to the board, who do you think wins that argument? If you say Ireland, you haven't been watching Jerry destroy the franchise since Jimmy was fired.

You must have confused us for a quality organization that has its act together. We haven't been one of those in years.

But you had faith in Jerry when Bill was around?

the drafts were a helluva lot better the last 4 years than they were the previous 9 years, because Jerry deferred to Bill. I'm not defending Bill either, but Jerry has run this organization into the ground. The Cowboys are a laughingstock with Jerry at the helm.

So we're back to this: If Jerry will defer to Bill, why would he not defer to Jeff? Also, how do you know he wasn't deferring to Jeff over the past several years?
