Are we bordering on having Cap problems?

Just wondering. Only because it seems that we have several FAs that we paid good money to that could end up being a backup by next year.

Flozell Adams- could be backing up McQ if he doesn't show more improvement
Marco Rivera- big disappointment with big contract
Kyle Kosier- book still out on him, but looks like he is average, at least he is young.
Akin Ayodele- another average looking signing who doesn't seem to be worth the money we gave him. Plus lets hope BC pushes him in camp next year.
Drew Bledsoe- he surely will not be back next season.

Vandy, Ferguson- I think they are very borderline on being worth what we are paying them.

All these players would be great backups, but starting seems iffy right now. I guess we should be happy the cap is mushrooming. It might be time we stopped giving out lucrative deals in free agency for players that the former team deemed expendable.

Where's AdamJT when you need him. He's probably really busy right about now making cap projections if certain players leave. :)

Kosier still looks like a good signing. So does Ferguson. Akin - that one is debateable right now. rivera clearly was a bad move that looked good at the time. So far no troubles with Vandy. So overall we really only have one dud FA and that is Rivera. Pretty decent batting average really. And clearly TO is worth what we are paying. Even Bledsoe earned it last year- just not this year.

Flozel Adams will be in last year of his 5 year contract in 07. If he doesn't show anything more by season's end, it's entirely possibly Cowboys won't bring him back--unless they convinced another offseason conditioning will turn him around. Frankly, I doubt that. I think McQuistan will be our LT in 07 IF IF IF he's as good as Parcells claims he can be.

Riveria playing better this year then he did in 05 but after Adams Riveria is the weak link on this team. Hopefully our cap in 07 will allow us to cut Riveria and bring in a younger RG either thru the draft or FA. We do have Proctor behind him but while Parcells likes him don't know if he can really be a legit NFL starter. But what we do need is a legit NFL OL coach.

Good to know on Flo. With so little time left on his contract, it probably would be one of those situations like LA- is he worth double what we could find a replacement for then add in the remainder of the signing bonus. Close call.

I'm pretty sure Adam has shown that we don't look to be in any cap trouble anytime soon. Of course, you'll have to get him to post the exact numbers.

we are in fine shape with the cap. and most of our guys are signed for the future so no problems there.

It's very difficult to get into cap trouble when you don't have a highly paid QB or a highly paid RB. We've got plenty of room under the cap, although I'm sure Adam has the exact numbers.

cap problem.... nope. if you think vandy/ferg are "borderline worth" it's unfortunate. i'm sure adam will post the exact numbers eventually but this is waaaaay premature.

while kosier wasn't my choice, he's here and it's just too soon on an overall bad line to know how well or poorly he's doing. the young part is great, but we need to jettison any OL on the + side of 30 and use the cap space we'll have on a stud and 2 solid OL and hope gurode can keep it up.

i'm betting we don't ignore the OL again.

If you play on the OL, then Stephen Jones has to take a good long hard look at your pay!

It's cool Jeff Fisher is coming in next season to turn them into Pro Bowlers.
