Are we really that surprised?

Admittedly I actually had some high hopes for this game, but historically, the Commanders usually play us tight.

Just know that we lost to the Commanders in each of our Super Bowl seasons in the 90's (twice in 1995).

It happens guys. Division games are brutal sometimes, regardless of record. We all know this.

With that said, I think we kill the Cardinals next week.

Not really shocked. No doubt Dallas had some chances early on to break Wash back but mistake allowed Washington to hang around and build confidence and they took us down. When the shoe has been on the other foot Dallas has done that to Washington as well. Does not excuse the Cowboys but it is done and over with a big game on the way

I'm not surprised, but I kinda thought we were past losing like this. We lost because of stupidity more than anything else. It's been bubbling under the last couple of weeks though. They made a lot of mistakes that should've cost them against the Giants and Seahawks.

This brings us back down to earth. Maybe we can focus on winning one game at a time instead of thinking Super Bowl.

We're an over-achieving 8-8 team.

Time to get over it. Get ready for the Cards. Romo is one sack away from retirement.

Shouldn't beat yourself like that, at home, against a 5 win team at best. Idc if it's the Commanders or the south arkansas mule riders.

Not really. I know the theme is that Dallas beat themselves and all that, but the Commanders came to play last night. Their gameplan was better and their players executed it better. The good news is that they play the team with the best record in the NFC this weekend and a win would put Dallas right back up where they were going into last weekend.

It's all still very much in the Cowboy's control how this season plays out.

Yes I'm surprised. Particularly considering the Commanders threw a guy out there at QB that hadn't played in a long time.

Remember Austin Davis against the Rams? Who the hell was he? He's showing himself to be a decent player, but he was absolutely nobody when the Cowboys played him.

I fell back in my chair the moment Romo got hurt and I also hurt my back. Today I am sore but I am going to grind it out here on the zone.

Yes I remember & the Cowboys came back & won that game with a very strong 2nd half.

There was none of that last night.

I was surprised because we played like last years team, extremely clumsy. I can't wrap my head around Colt McCoy anchoring a 7+ minute drive on our defense and scoring, that's pathetic!

I am not surprised. I said all week long that it would be a tough, tight, game because it's a division rival and they always seem to find a way to play us really great when everything else says they shouldn't be able to.

He did have pretty good numbers in the previous game (don't remember who they played)

What worries me most about this team is the lack of a pass rush. Sure, they'll get pressure on occasion, but not nearly often enough. There have been several games where, generally speaking, the opposing QB had all day to scan the field to find an open receiver. With the corners we have, pressure has to get there quickly for the D Backfield to have any chance. Now, add to that that teams know they can all-out blitz our team and be successful at it, those are not good ingredients. Granted, teams have to have the personnel/knowledge to successfully deploy those tactics, but we play several that do.

It's and up and down league this year. At one point everyone was writing off the Packers, Steelers, Patriots and Saints. Not now. We can get back up and play well again. The Arizona game will be huge (but aren't they all?)...

Good point. I feel like every single game I've watched, no matter which teams are playing and no matter what the records are, it's a "must win" for such and such team. And it's absolutely true. Every game is a must win game in this league.

Well, Lawrence is coming. But my fear is the defense loses more in Durant than they'll gain in Lawrence.

I agree. It's a 1:00 EST kickoff. Regional game away from prime time or game of the week. We do better away from the limelight.

I really want to be enthused by this, but I just can't imagine a rookie playing in his first game ever will help us make a 180 in the pass rushing department.

I really hope I'm wrong though.

And losing Durant really sucks. Hitchens or Wilbur, pick your poison. Ugh.
