Our QB is 34 yet we are not interested in Brees. Our starting WR's are both on their last legs. Both starting guards are on the decline. The only youth on offense is RB and TE. Thus far we have been linked to a 35 yr old center, a 31 yr old RT, a 31 yr old WR..... where are we going to be in 5 years if this is the game plan?? BP better produce a SB in the next two years.

alot of other teams arnt interested in Brees either, for obvious reasons

The way I look at it......last year we got our defense young again, and I think this year we'll be more focused on getting our offense younger. I dont see BP disregarding the fact that we are starting to look like the raiders of a few years ago with our offense. NFL retirement alley. I think the organization recognizes the need, and I think that throughout the course of this offseason we'll all see several moves that set us up for the future!

I think you meant "to [back up] one of the older ones."

i guess its good to plan for the future, but i want the "BOYS" to win a superbowl now, so i dont care how old the players are,as long as they can still contribute, then it's cool with me

It seems pretty clear to me that we think we probably have our next QB on the roster. OL, you build with quality later-round picks that build strength in your program for a few years before starting. We're set at TE, and at RB, and have one option with potential at WR. I don't agree with many here who think we need to upgrade at C, either. I think we'll work this season to get more versatile on the OL and probably line up another young WR in the draft.

As far as FA goes, I don't think the players we've been linked to are all that likely to end up here.

I agree with you on all points except the one about the Center. Al Johnson has hit the wall as far as strength is concerned and he is just not strong enough in the lower body to keep from being blowup back into the QB's face. We desperately need an upgrade at Center IMO. In fact I am far more concerned about AJ at center than I am about Pettiti at RT. AJ has (as I said) hit the wall...Rob still has room (and I believe the ability) to improve.
