Are we there yet?

Long-time Cowboys fans can remember the feeling....every Sunday we knew more likely than not we would win heartily, if not at the last minute. Roger, Danny, then eventually Troy led teams that had us feeling like each Sunday was a given win unless something pretty bad (but usually worth watching, nonetheless) happened.

Since Troy's retirement, that feeling, that confidence in the Cowboys' winning ability began eroding rather quickly, for many if not most, and we the faithful suffered several years of this unfamiliar feeling that many Cowboys' faithful might not even recall (if you weren't around for Tom Landry's last year and Jimmy's first).

So, with Romo at the helm of a very talented team, are we on our way back to established dominance, or simply having one good year?

Are we there yet?

Even if win out the regular season games, I don't think we can say we are there yet.
We need to win some playoff games before we can say we've "arrived".

You don't arrive until you are clutching the Lombardi Trophy, then you have arrived and it is non-negotiable....unless you are the 2005 Steelers because that was just garbage.

For some reason, I don't have a feeling of confidence. I'm in a dreamlike state and I'm afraid to pinch myself.

I'm afraid I'm going to wake up and see Bledsoe taking more sacks.

I have been thinking about how the current team ranks among the Dallas teams of the past. I can't put my finger on it. Let's let the season play itself out before we rank them.

I'm quickly getting to that point where I have confidence in a win....Romo already has it and he proved it when he said "Just give me the ball with 1 minute and 2 timeouts left." If he actually said that.

We could win the SB and you would claim we left points on the field.

I have always thought we would win every game, but that's just me.

It is nice though knowing your coach is more likely than not to make the right decision unlike when Campo was saying it was easier to score three times than twice with two point conversions or claiming he had no play to get us a yard so he kicked a field goal.

I posted a couple of weeks ago that, even though we had a winning streak going I wasn't sure we could "trust" this team. We would need to beat the Giants on the road first. We did, and now I do trust this team.

Not that I'm absolutely sure that we will win every game. But I feel more relaxed going into each game and feel like we've got a good chance against the top teams and that we will beat inferior teams. It sure makes watching the games more fun now, even though I would never miss a 'Boys game anyway.

Been a Boys fan for over 30 years, so I know the feeling you are talking about. I haven't got the complete swagger back just yet though. I want to have it, but I am torn between total confidence and waiting for the shoe to drop and this team to revert back to the Cowboys of late,, losing big games.

I am getting closer each week. I can say this however, this team reminds me alot of the team that Johnson put together in the early 90's, young, talented players that are going to be successful for many years.

I am also excited every week, that hasn't happened in the last 6 years,, I don't have the confidence to say we will win every week, but I know we will have a good chance every week. And really, that all I can ask for.
