Are we tipping our run plays?

We've long since gone away from those kinds of plays for some reason. Think back to 2010 just after Garrett took over and look at all the rushing yardage we got from running out of the shotgun. Shotgun draws to Felix, tosses to Choice, and reverses to Austin accounted for most of our successful running plays in those games.

Cannot believe I am going to say this, but I miss the draws.

Norv's passing offense was built on play-action... No team ran it better than us...
Last year, no team used play action less than the Cowboys. Only 10% of Romo's dropbacks used play action.

Romo's Pass Rating
2012
with play action 109.1 (68 att)
w/o play action 88.3 (580 att)

This year, again no team runs less play action than Dallas. The percentage is 10.8 right now.

Romo's Pass Rating
2013
with play action 124.5 (36 att)
w/o play action 97.2 (310 att)

I remember many a defensive coordinator who would say back then, "we knew what was coming, but we just couldn't stop em"

Of course, because the they'd just look like idiots.. "Our game-plan sucked, which is why we lost..." You can win both talent wise and coaching wise.. They both aren't mutually exclusive. That pass to Alvin Harper on the slant by Troy Aikman.. that was because the defense didn't know it was coming...

Again, Norv's offense those Super Bowl years was built on play-action. They did alot out of the same formations.

I just miss the days when every player, coach, fan and beer guy at the game knew Emmitt was getting the ball and there was no way to stop it. That is an effective run game. Just like Peterson did for the vikes last year. But with all the money we have invested into WR's and TE's and QB, we will not see that anytime soon.
