Are we whistling in the graveyard here?

Detroit has repeatedly been a bad matchup for us..

and the defense has been embarrassing at best against Stafford.

I think we have to be very leary of this game..

we can't talk SB until we erase the failures of the past against Detroit..

what say you guys.

Can we really make a 4 game winning streak hold up?

The last 2 games we played the Lions we should have won. We didn't have problems putting up points in either game. The first one was a Romo choke job. We had the game won and then kept throwing and Romo made several bad decisions. The 2nd game we made a mistake at the end. Tyron had a holding penalty and I believe it took us out of field goal range and we gave the ball back to Stafford and he led a miracle drive to end the game.

We are a completely different team now though. We rarely make those same stupid mistakes. Romo isn't throwing the ball like crazy anymore. We have a solid run game and solid oline and even a better defense. This game is extremely winnable for us. Detroit has been playing bad football lately. Heck, Minny and Chicago almost beat them. We on the other hand have been playing extremely good football.
Detroit is going down.

It wasn't that Tyron's holding call took the Cowboys out of FG range, it was that it stopped the clocked and gave the Lions time to score. Tyron did the same thing this year vs Seattle, but it didn't hurt the Cowboys because McClain got the interception to seal the victory.

I didn't see anybody here blowing off the Lions and "On any given Sunday" certainly applies to the playoffs, every team can beat you. It very much applies to a Cowboys team with a shaky defense.

No doubt playoffs are a 1 game deal there are no second chances. I certainly believe the Cowboys can win this game but Det has some weapons of their own and Dallas will have to play very solid ball to win

the way I see it, Detroit's offense can't get it in gear, and assuming Dallas controls the clock again, Detroit won't be able to get into a rhythm. I see Detroit having two strong drives, and then not much more, Dallas wins something like 33-20

Ok, thanks for the correction. My memory was fuzzy on that. In a situation like that, you get in the huddle and so absolutely NO holding or any kind of penalty here guys, we have to run this clock down. You have to THINK in that situation.

Some fans, in their minds, may be whistling past the graveyard, but I'm pretty sure this team isn't, and they're the ones that matter. This team, IMO, is the most confident group of players I've seen since the 90's glory days. Does that guarantee a win? Of course not. But I'll tell you right now this team isn't scared of Detroit or anybody else in the playoffs. It may seem cliché, but this team is getting hot at the right time. Their last four games haven't been close. The defense is my concern, but they seem to be playing better with each passing game. This has been an unexpectedly fun ride, and I am just going to continue to enjoy it until it ends. I am confident they'll play their hearts out, and that's really all anyone can ask of them.

Agree. Never expected division title or playoffs so anything , minus a blowout loss is great to me

Agreed. I don't think anyone is overconfident. You've got to beat some very good teams every year to make it to the Super Bowl. But, there is a reason the Cowboys are 7 point favorites. They are the better team. If they play to their potential, Detroit can't beat them. Make too many mistakes or get a few bad breaks, they can certainly lose.

I agree, main thing is Dallas focus on executing what they do. All season long Dallas has put the focus on themselves to go out and execute what we do instead of getting caught up in the hype of the other team. They were showing some clips with audio and before the seahawks game Mincey said in team huddle "They have to beat us" I think that mentality has continued through out the season. Play our game do that and I like our chances

I could always be wrong, but this team doesn't appear to be the kind that will experience a blowout loss. Their talent coupled with the way the execute makes a blowout highly improbable, IMO.

I rewatched the last Dallas Detroit on rewind. Our D came up with repeated stops in the clutch. We just couldn't end it.

We are a much different team now. I think we beat them by at least 10.

Thanks man. I really do believe we are the better team and will take Detroit down. The odds makers who use all kind of statistics and zero emotions also have us as 7 point favorites. That means we should win this game, only way we lose is if we beat ourselves. This team is riding so high I just don't see that happening. Also, I can guarantee you the crowd at this game will be extremely loud. Tickets are selling like crazy for this game.

Yeah, remember that our safeties at the end of that game were Heath and Hamilton.

yeah i'm not sure why some are thinking we'll put up 40 or more on what was for the majority of the season, the best defense in the NFL. It's going to be a tough, hard fought game. Could come down to whomever has the ball last..

I think Detroit really struggled in the cold at Lambeau and will be able to really get their offense going in an indoor stadium (which is much like their own at home)

How dare some of the fans have some confidence. Let the players do their job, and the fans do theirs. Enjoy the "process", I mean the ride!

I watched it not exactly remembering how we lost. And could not fathom any way we could lose given the circumstances.
we lost.
