Excerpts about McNabb, specifically...

Over the...past three seasons, McNabb has won nine of 21 games and suffered two season-ending injuries. Since the 2004 Super Bowl season, the Eagles have a better record without McNabb (8-7) than with him (9-11). And that includes two months with Mike McMahon flinging passes to random destinations on or near NFL football fields.

McNabb? He's completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes in three straight starts going back before his 2006 knee injury. That's as many times as he completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes in his previous 41 games.

Through 2004, McNabb won 71 percent of his starts.

Since 2005, he's won 45 percent.

McNabb has always been overrated.

I have lots of fun reminding Eagle fans that the "real" cancer still wears green and his jersey number is the number five. :D

You know, I really believe this. An offensive line can make a good RB or good QB look great. It make make an average QB and RB look good. A bad offensive line can make a great QB/RB look average and a good QB/RB look bad.

Everyone who knows anything about the Eagles knows they've had one of the top offensive lines in the league for years. McNabb *was* (stressed) a product of that offensive line.

I've always thought that he was overrated, too.

One stat that opened my eyes a bit was his career completion to interception ratio was (something like) 45:1. That's pretty impressive. Still, I wouldn't trade Romo for him at this point.

Well it discounts the fact that the defense has had its share of injuries and problems the last few seasons. And that Andy Reid under utilizes Brian Westbrook when McNabb is the QB, but uses him correctly when the back up QB is playing.

McNabb is probably not the same QB he was a few years ago. Injuries and age can and will do that to any QB, but there is also more to the story than just McNabb. And that is fine with me. If Philly is going to struggle and be worse than they have been in the past then I will celebrate.

True... but the TEAM plays better when he is not under center.

Maybe they are rallying to try and overcome the loss of their starting QB. That does happen. And being over rated does not make a QB not good. He is a good QB. Not as good as the hype, but still good. Just like Bledsoe was good, but not near as good as they hype of the Bledsoe trolls on this board last year.

Romo is already better than McNabb ever was.

Yeah, I said it!

I think the team plays better when McNabb isn't playing because Andy Reid runs the ball more often.

I'm not 100% sure of that, but it seems the team does run the ball more when McNabb isn't playing. I'd look up the stats for that, but I'm too lazy.

This is probably true... but Garcia seemed to the WCO better than McNabb...

Mcnabb is still a very dangerous QB in that system. I thought he looked pretty good against a very tough defense on Sunday in his first game back.

He completed 15 of 33 passes for 184 yards (that's 5.5 yards per attempt) with 1 TD and 1 INT.

That's not "Pretty good". And the Deadskins defense is not "Very tough".

McPuke looked good a few year back againt the Cardinals, the Campo coached Cowboys, a week Stink team, etc.

However, when he faces strong competition, he folds like a cheap envelope!

He's a crybaby, mommy and daddy's boy, and he moonlights as Reid's little lapdog...

Hold on a second.... "no longer elite".... McNabb was considered "elite" at some point.... oh boy

I am sorry but.... the only shot Donovan ever had at being an Elite QB was with a player that WE NOW HAVE - Owens. His best stats are when Owens was on that team. I didnt even bother putting in 2005 games.
