I think you have zero perspective. The top selling album in 2008 was Coldplay's and it got 1.4 mil. The record industry as a whole lost over a third of its record sales from 2007. For comparison Simpson's 2003 release sold 3 million. People torrent now; they dont spend $20 on a CD that costs $3 to make.

Everyone expected the album to flop and while 180k isnt great it was actualy pretty good esp for the country market. It was the top seller for a month and produced a couple of top 40 singles.

Shes also still on Sony's record label.

She just stopped promoting her stuff around last November which coincides with the time that a lot of bad media attention started coming her way specifically on how she was to blame for Tony's drop in production.

I think Tony knows what the deal is. He said from the get go when people were singing his praises that the it could all end as quick as it begins. As for the celebrity bit I think Tony would be doing the same things with or without the limelight that he does now

uh, no it's not, esp when the hghest selling artist right now is taylor swift and she is in country market, and her album easily sold 3m in 6 months. underwood is close to 3m on her last album. rascal flatts are in 500k already with their new album. i think you're selling the country market waaaayyyyy short if you think 180k is "pretty good" for them. country artists are the best-sellers nowadays.

it was only a top seller for a week, and that's because there was no one else released their album the time she did. clever timing on her part. then it dropped out of billboard top 200 albums after only nine weeks.

produced a couple of top 40 singles.

1st single - peaked at 18
2nd single - peaked at 42
3rd single - didnt even chart. nada. didnt make a dent.

she and her people should just stop drumbeating about how it's everyone's fault but jessica's that she is a complete failuer in her "country" career. she should just ask romo to marry her or have his babies now and get it over with. no more pretending she's a country singer just bec she's from texas and is dating a cowboy.
