This isn't the 60,70,80,90 where the top rushing team wins the championship.

I agree...but this scheme does not get people open. It needs the run game to be effective. Then the safties have to help out....which gives the WRs some single coverage. Else teams sit in a 2 deep zone and ALLOW Witten to catch as many 7 yard routes as he wants.

We just don't take advantage of other teams personnel weather that's Romo JG or BC who knows. But when you have a guy like Dunbar who can catch you have to try and get him into space not let him stand on the sideline. We have no digs or deep in routes or crossing patterns or screens to help counter this. Again I'm starting to wonder if Romo having so much authority in game plan and on the field has a lot to do with this. He is gun shy he would rather settle for 2 yard patterns to Witten in the flat and 6 yard curls to Midgets and dump offs to Murray who isn't going to make anyone miss or blow past them.

Considering that Schramm started talking to Johnson about coming to the Cowboys in 1988, I don't know that what you are saying is accurate.

Jimmy and Jerry were good friends.

Also, I don't think there has been a coach in the NFL that has gone 1-15 and not been fired (or quit or retired).

one of their defenders made a comment about us having a basic offense earlier in the week. if i cared enough about this team right now i'd go back and look for it but i don't.

I get it man i'll take your word for it. I really don't want to hear anything Cowboys right now and its tough being on this site lol. I go on this site for comfort and i'm not getting it lol.

I still don't get this dominance of a running game? It's about passing efficiently. Look at the Top teams about passing and passing efficiently. It's simple the chargers just proved it. We out gained them on the ground and lost. They out gained us in the air and they won. They did it by completing passes and making first downs.

I totally agree with you here. We are a passing team. We win when we let Romo air it out. Our team is not made for running the ball 20 plus times if it ain't working.

while tony was no star yesterday, he didn't give up 30 and he wasn't the guy giving up TOP at nearly a 2:1 clip....there are a lot of issues for this team, I think they may have read their own press clippings after the St Louis game and felt that they were good to go. complacency doesn't win the NFL...

Well our team is NOT built for a passing offense. Outside of Dez....who can we throw the ball to that is explosive? Every throw is into tight spaces. The WRs have to catch the ball in traffic. Our guys rarely get the ball in space. We have a bunch of big lumbering guys at the skills positions. So we might not be made for running...but our passing game is predicated on a strong running game.

There are many people on this board that thinks he throws to Witten because he is the only one that gets open. I have been saying for years that the defense ALLOWS us to have that....because they know they can get him to the ground. They will let us throw to Witten ALL DAY LONG....and guess what? We do!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do we invest in these "speedy" TEs if we do NOT use them? Does a swing pass to Demarco Murray scare ANYBODY? I sound like a broken record...get the ball to the guys that can get big chunks!!!!

Sounds like a playbook problem to me. If everyone is covered tightly, then why are we running routes right into coverage? Why does the plays take so long to develop? And why aren't we using more formations that create mismatches? Heck, if Bryant is double covered why not put him in motion or using crossing routes? Players are NOT at fault for their lack of skill. Its nothing more than the playbook that is holding back this offense and has been for a long time now.

Which is why I asked the question. How long is Jerry going to continue to believe in this? Because remember...for Jerry to distance himself from this....would mean Jerry has to take back everything he has said about Garrett. Remember, it was just last year that Jerry said one of the reason he hired Garrett was because of his playcalling ability....except for one small fact Jerry....Jason had NEVER called plays at ANY level until he was hired to do so in Dallas. This is just comical. And the joke is on US!!!
