As bad as I want us to win this upcoming Detroit game, I think we lose

Recent versions of the Cowboys have been Jekyll and Hyde in home and away games. I hope Schotty finds a way to put an end to that, he certainly talks about it the right way. Dak looks different this year too, hope they finally turned the corner. Put an end to the *****cats season and to Campbell's coaching stint.
Payback time is now.

Yes, IMO odds are we lose. But isn't it amazing that we have come so far that we can even have an intelligent, objective discussion about whether or not we think we will win or lose this game? And the cherry on top is how great of a situation we will be in if we do somehow win?

I was going to say I usually agree with you but not this time. If I was worried it was KC they were a team with their backs against the wall and man was that a freaking good game Like two will's battling it out in the arena. If we had lost I would have still been proud.

When he was in he was on Worthy a lot. There was one play I believe they were at the 10 Worthy was sprinting across the end zone Revel was with him stride for stride arm out. He would have been a 1st round talent. We got a steal with him. If Diggs can play at 90% we go a secondary.
But will Diggs buy in? To date, we haven't seen it. Not sure his teammates want him. He bailed on them. He went home to lick his wounds, sulk. Not sure he's conducive to the culture we want. I'd still be shocked if he played this week, if at all.

You end that by running the ball well early and often. Getting off to better starts. Special teams is another phase we need to step up on the road. Not beating Detroit unless we win all 3 phases.

I guess I look at things differently than most.

If the Cowboys cannot beat a 7-5 team ahead of them in the wildcard standings on the road and in a game they really need to win to have a chance at the playoffs then why even worry about them making the playoffs, especially as the 7th seed where they would end up playing every game on the road against even better teams?

The Cowboys should view this and every remaining game as "must win" games or else they are out of the playoffs.
Play every game like it is a must win. I am looking at building for next year anyway. We put ourselves in an early hole with that awful defense. Hard to Diggs out of it.

detroit didn’t jsut want to beat us, they wanted to embarrass us. The last two times we played them they later us like e a divisional opponent. It felt like the games were personal to them. The weren’t just playing with a chip on their shoulder. So I really want to beat Detroit
I hope they remember how they were running double reverse passes to linemen when the game was well in hand.

I think we beat Detroit if it's a clean game with limited penalties and the refs don't have their thumb on the scale. The KC game was a refreshing break from the typical dumpster fire of penalties, poor execution, and bad decisions... I hope we can keep it up.

As bad as I want us to win this upcoming Detroit game, it's gonna be very very hard. Alot to ask. I think we lose that game. Will be low scoring. Will be a valiant effort. However, I think even more stunning will be Philly losing next week as well. Thus not really hurting us. Then what will happen is we go and run the table. We finish 10-6-1 as Division Champion. Philly will lose 4 out of the next 5. They finish at 9-8. They will beat Washington one time but lose everything else. All we must do is win the next 4 out of 5 and we are fine. We are hot. Nobody wants to play us. We are getting healthy also right at the right time. Eagles are circling the drain. Don't look now but this team loves one another and is playing like a bunch of mudders that have a chip on their shoulders. Is it the trades, Shotty, Flus, Kneeland? Is it an accident that we began playing better right after we sent Diggs home to sulk? Just asking because this ain't the same team we saw the first half of the year. I always said this is a transition year for us going back to camp. I was looking ahead to 2026, keeping my 2025 expectations low. However, could it be that we jumped ahead of the curve because of those trades we made, including the Pickens trade? Is Pick a cheat code? I'm loving it because now we are playing loose, with house money, no pressure. Nobody gave us a chance. Still don't. We shall see. Comment, let me know guys, what you think. Sorry for the very long opening statement.
The Lions are beat up right now. A lot of injuries.

The path is already razor thin, 1 loss all but seals it.
Right...because I don't at all see the Eagles losing 4 of the last 5. But they could drop @ Chargers and @ Bills...which would be enough if Dallas wins out. Otherwise you'd need an upset @ Commanders, who might have Daniels back by then.

If the Cowboys are up 38-0 in the 3rd quarter I want flea flickers, hook and ladders, hell, break out the statue of liberty and swinging gate too. I even want to pull a Buddy Ryan and fake a kneel down at the end just to run up yet another score. Clown those jerks if you get the chance.

Yes but it's about timing and match ups. Not all 7-5 teams are created the same. This is man on man.
Don’t you think the timing is good for us.

We are healthier than Detroit. We have played consistently well for the last 3 weeks, Detroit has not. In the past 3 weeks we have 4 new starters on defense who have all played well and helped this defense play very good. Our Offense has just played 2 top defenses and played very well. Detroits O is struggling a little lately.

Matchups: After watching our O lines and D lines vs the 2 Super Bowl teams from last year, I think they will matchup well vs Detroit. I think our receivers/TE’s matchup extremely well vs Detroits secondary.

I definitely think we have the ability, timing and matchups to win, but will the coaches have a good game plan? Will Detroit out coach us?
This is a big game for our coaches. They need our team prepared with a smart game plan. If the coaching matchup is even, we win!!!!

Mariota and Washington looked pretty darn good vs a very good Denver team. Philly plays Washington twice. Washington’s receivers are healthy too!

Fan guys were talking and one of them said something that was basically the Cowboys seem to be pointing up while the Lions seem to be going in the opposite direction.

Lions and Chargers would appear to be the toughest games remaining. Vikings are not doing well with JJ...Commanders not doing well with Mariota and the giants are the giants.

That in no way means we should take those three games lightly but the Lions and Chargers are the two big ones left.

I know, but IMHO, the match up for us will be bad. If we can control the high energy, emotions of the game early, not let them score get out of hand, we have a chance. I'm worried about our slow starts. That can't happen. The two runners they have scare me more than anything.

Dallas must get up on the Lions early. If they continue their slow starts this will just feed the Lions run game.

The Lions remind me of Dallas in the sense of they play very well with a lead.
