As Fans Let's Change Our Behavior At the New Stadium

I thought I would provide a change of pace topic since we all are in a state of depression. With the new stadium opening next season, I would like to see us change as fans. Please don't take this as a criticism, it is not my intention. Far too often, Texas Stadium was too quiet through the years. We tend to be one of the most laid back crowds in the league. With our new stadium, we need to get louder. There needs to be a real atmosphere at the stadium. We need more team chants, wearing team colors, etc. Heck, I wouldn't even mind seeing us add some kind of team band. I get sick of the same tired old piped in music you hear at every NFL stadium. I want to see us become one of the rowdiest crowds in the league. Your thoughts?

Dude, have you been to a game lately? The vast majority of the ones I've been to have been LOUD.

Besides, if you think JerryWorld is gonna be raucous, think again...when you have $340/ticket "club seats" stretching from goaline to goaline for the first Three decks, methinks you will see lots of wine and cheese being served.

Me, I'll still be sportin' my blue and white; raisin' hell over in the corner endzone.

None of the new state of the art stadiums rock like their former counterparts. Bill Simmons wrote a good piece about that, singling out Gillette field in particular. It's just inevitable.

Doesn't matter, Philips is here as a coach and Jerry still owns the team.

The games I have been to have pretty loud, but, as stated earlier, with the seat prices being higher at the new stadium, most of the noise makers will be priced out.

As far as noise made while we are on offense, how about showing video of "Achmed, the dead terrorist" on the jumbotron shouting "SILENCE!!!!!! I KEEEEEL YOU!!!!".

Maybe Walter should coach this team.:D

I've made the pilgrimage from NY a few times over the years and was very pleasantly surprised this year at the Tampa Bay game. It was loud and the crowd was a factor, especially on the critical last stand. Also, I don't think I've ever seen so may jerseys anywhere.

And as superpunk says, look up that Simmons piece -- a real good one on this topic.

I wish the Cowboys games were as loud as many college games. I have been to several Cowboys game and have gone to many college games and few NFL crowds can make noise like you see on Sat.

If I paid the PSL that Jerry's asking for, and this team was still in a disarray, I'd be making a hell of a lot of noise at the new stadium.

...Cowboy Chris style.

I wish all pro games were as loud as college games. Also wish the players showed as much heart and determination as the college players.

I agree. No doubt some college players are looking ahead to the Pros but most college kids know they have no future in the NFL but they love the game and play like it. I have to admit outside of the Cowboys I would watch a college game over the Pros

Qwest Field in Seattle is new and notoriously loud. It was designed with acoustics in mind, in order to maximize the crowd noise.

The problem is, the fans that would be the loudest can't afford tickets to Jones' new monstrosity of a stadium. Dallas, especially inner city Dallas, is notoriously poor.

It will be full of rich CEOs who sit on their hands or in fancy, air-conditioned suites.

There is alot of truth in this post.

I am from Dallas and have been to several games at Texas Stadium.

Texas Stadium is not loud and Cowboys games in general have not been raucous and loud consistently since the Cotton Bowl days.

To think an even more expensive venue is going to change this fact is just silly.

A few years back I read that Dallas is estimated to have the highest minority fanbase of any pro sports franchise in the country, yet when I've been to games at Texas Stadium it's always 80-85% white. That speaks volumes about how atrocious our ticket prices are.

Jones needs to take notice of his fanbase and realize that the people who rarely get to go to games are the ones who will be the loudest when they are able to go. At the very least he needs one or two games a year with big ticket discounts.

I agree.

I remember reading the book "My heroes have always been Cowboys" and Cornell Green talked about how the new "whine and cheese" crowd at Texas Stadium was nothing compared to the Cotton Bowl and how they lost their true fans and homefield advantage when they move to Irving.

Also, Irving is in the Suburbs, so it makes it even more inconvient for those in the inner city to get there, especially the ones that rely on Public Transportation.

Moving it out to Arlington just exacerbates the situation.

No way that crowd will be rowdy.

Maybe when their Tony Romo  .

And I think Jerry took that into account for the new stadium. The seats are closer to the field and higher. To maximize the loudness.
