As much as we bash Garrett

Then given the examples of good game plans and the results on game day, why deviate from it? Doesn't the head coach have a say in the way the offense and defence will operate or at least present a specific identity on the football field? It seems he is more focused on the way the team "prepares" during practice and not how it goes bout implementing a game plan. GO COWBOYS!

I might be oversimplifying it but it seems like when we use the option read, jet sweep, commit to taking shots down field, and make a conscious effort to use Zeke in the passing game we’re actually pretty good.

When we go back to running between the tackles in 12 personnel, WR comeback routes on the outside, check downs on the middle of the field and Tavon on the bench we look terrible.

It’s not about absolutes either. I just want as to tend towards the options in the first paragraph more so than the second.

I'm on the fire Garrett bandwagon but don't feel the need to harp on him after a good win or justify my opinion. I'll take the victory and wait to see what happens next week.

Agreed.
Garrett is not going to take you to where you want to go. We are headed to no mans land of 7-9 to 9-7 best case scenario. One win doesn't cure our ills. We all know the Cowboys have a great RB, and still a very good line. We spent no money at WR or TE to try to give Garrett & Dak a reasonable shot to compete.
What does 8-8 get us other than pick 19 in the draft? After 8 years of JG, this is what you want? This is a passing league, you have to pass to score points and win, unless you are playing in a snow storm.
Great offenses travel, look at the Chiefs last night. Playmakers everywhere, how many 20+ plays do they make a game? How many do the Cowboys make?

IF we go with what appears to be the strengths of this team and win, great. IF we don't and lose, it's on the coaching staff. If we do and lose, then it's on both of them since you have to made adjustments to compensate for the other team. If we are not smart enough to do that, coaches and/or players. Right now we are down to a whole new coaching staff other than Leinart and Garret. Next up, owner. GO, COWBOYS!

NOPE, I'm not giving clapper anything but a sucker for a win. Yes it seems the team was rallied up and ready for battle, but just give it a week, and we will get that same tired ole hooya, raa raa and a team showing just how dysfunctional they truly are under this boneheaded clapping clown.

Dudes been here 8 years outside of cincinatti you dont have your team ready to play 60 minutes every blue moon and keep your job

So yes, I will HAPPILY take my hoof off his neck for the week. He did well today. But, another bad week, and my hoof goes back on him.

But, aren’t we all tired of taking it off and on for 8 years with the same results? Let’s keep it on and rid ourselves of this experiment.

You have to give him credit for this game and give him his due.

He had the players ready from the whistle and the coaches had some excellent gameplans to work with.

And they played the entire 60 minutes making a statement today.

These guys play for this guy.

They really do buy into him.

Yes..

they can stink it up at times..

but whatever he says to them when they play like this.

I wish he could bottle it and save it for the big games.

Feel free to slap me for saying it...

But I think we need to stop the Garrett bashing and just watch the games and try to enjoy.

Ok..over to you guys.
this win wasn't on garrett, it was the players tuning him and Linehan out and doing what they know should be done. if we had no coach yesterday, the results might have been even better. garrett was holding them back...

well, that's what garrett haters would say...so I thought I just get it going for them

It was a great win, and suggests the team has maybe(?) turned a corner. But it’s a matter of consistency.

Will this team — both players and coaches — enter the next game, vs division foe Washington, with the same amount of energy, confidence and decisiveness that they showed against the Jags?

We’re now at .500; a place the Jason Garrett Cowboys know all too well.

Moving forward, only time will tell.

There is no doubt that the clapping was first class on Sunday. We have that going for us....

Papa Jerry gets the game credit, this isn't a Garrett ran game! They did everything the media ripped Garrett for, using Dak in run options, being aggressive on 4th & 1, run Zeke 20+ carries. All what we ripped Garrett for, we will be back to conservative game calling again..

all I want to see is for the coaches and the players be consistent they have talent do this week end and week out game to game play to play quarter to quarter but they need to run a college style offense that dak understands and knows play to what the players strengths are

Garrett definitely has flaws, and it's not at all unreasonable to want the team to find a new coach given that he has failed to meet team goals, but I love your post because it goes against all those fans that want to imagine they have a personal grudge with Garrett and who falsely indicate he doesn't care because Jerry will keep him no matter what, or that he doesn't work hard or that he throws everyone under the bus, or any of the other nonsense things some posters can dream up in their minds. Clearly the players don't think any of this is true.
