As much as we bash Garrett

There’s no question he keeps guys playing, where maybe other coaches would lose the team. It’s just the dumbo stuff of trying to force things that aren’t there, and not seeing the obvious game situations that drive me to pick up the phone...”Ahh yes...I’d like to make an appointment with therapist Amy...she wouldn’t be available Monday by any chance?...yes it’s me again, she knows the reason.”

Can I have Amy's number. I'd like to schedule an appointment ... lol

Give him credit for fielding another 8-8 average team who sometimes beats teams they shouldn’t? Nah, I’m good.

This isn't how it works. Now putting any coach on the hot seat or taking them off of said hot seat week to week is silly.

But if you kill Garrett after a loss....after a statement win...giving credit to others basically shows your incredible amount of bias. Be consistent.

Maybe you missed the memo that Jerry wasn't so happy with Garrett not going for it on 4th down against the Texans. Guess what? He went for it on 4th down today.

So yes the coaches was on the hot seat believe it or not. If it lights a fire up Garretts and/or Linehan's butt than I'm all for it. Thus more credit should be given to Jerry more than anything else for this win. He's the real coach of this team. Not Garrett.

Can you get her to send me a Patrick Mahomes bobble-head?... lol
you just reminded me of a childhood memory.

I grew up in North Dallas and about the age of 14 our neighbor asked me if I would cut his lawn for him as he was going away on business and needed somebody to do it for his wife and him.

I said sure..so I did it.

After a couple of weeks I saw him and he said come get paid.

I went into his den and there was Dallas Texan and Kansas City Chief stuff everywhere?

I started looking at the pics and he had one of Lenny Dawson and him. Also Hank Shram, the coach, Hunt the owner..and others. also.

I recognized them as I followed the Cowboys and knew a little bit.

I asked about it and he said he was the head scout for the team and was on the road all the time during the season scouting teams which was why he asked me to cut his lawn.

I was pretty gecked by that and he and I got to be friends when he knew I liked football.

Later he gave me some signed pics of KC players he said he had to give away to people as promos.

So thanx for the memory and the bobble heads mention..

Fun memory for me.

Great share, Redball...

And who is Jerrah's coach?

I'm suspecting his wife.

the longer I watch this team..

The more I understand about this team after 50+ years of following them..

the coaches make a difference..

But it's the players who really do it.

Some of our teams in the past just had a hunger as a team to win.

Others not so much.

It does not matter if it's Garrett, Phillips, Parcellls or Landry.

In our our SB teams..

there was a moment where the team got galvanized and went on to win it all.

Still looking for that in Garrett and this team.

Today could have been one of those moments.

We will see this week.

Memo to the Cowboys Zone Forum

Hey..cut out the bashing please. We want to win quietly and stay under the radar while we work on things.

Thank you.

The Jones Ownership

End of Memo

In that time there have been two 12-4 seasons with a 13-3.

No it hasn’t been great and no it’s not up to standard for what this franchise has with resources.

But let’s not act like it’s been 11 years of 5-11.

Marvin Lewis is the same in the AFC for Cincy and they’re doing well this year.

Garrett is actually what you’d want in a CEO. Intelligent, good motivator and love for the organization.

He needs to reinvent himself ala Andy Reid and get more aggressive to compete in today’s NFL but the tone of the franchise is solid. Andy Reid never threw the ball down the field like he is now with Mahomes. McNabb and Smith were both dink and dunk.

To me it’s Stephen that while he has restrained Jerry from making bad moves like Manziel, he’s also put a little too much stock in being risk adverse. Thus the WR core isn’t very good. Now we’ll see next offseason if the restraint pays off when they’re not up against the cap.

The schemes are run by coordinators with input from HC on overall direction. The direction of relying on an OL week in and week out is not as secure as they’d hoped. When it doesn’t work there’s not an easy plan B. That’s the part that needs to be tweaked. Have it where if the OL dominates you can maul people but if it’s not working like last week there’s other options.

The FO tries to be like the Patriots by cutting guys too soon. The coaching staff is the opposite of the Patriots by being too stubborn to change schemes from week to week.

People say Garrett’s been HC for 8 years but in reality it’s been two stints of 5 and 3. Changing QBs who are drastically different changes the whole team.

That’s basically a long way of saying overall I’d give him a C+.

I want him to do well but totally understand and would support the decision to move on if the team finishes 9-7 or worse and no playoffs.
To recreate Carrot Top as Andy will require gaining 50 lbs. and a mustache.

Nah.

trying to be consist..

I'll take it as a compliment.

No, but I'l tell you how long she worked for them.

I have an two unproduced Super Bowl XXX full leather jackets that pro-player rejected.

I have a one of a kind picture of Troy Aikman that is always in the right wall of my den.

And I had a dinner with Marty Schottenhiemer, and almost zero football was talked.
i'm going to post a thread tomorrow about the time in 1996 I got hired to shoot the stills for an Exercise Video featuring the the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Tomorrow.

Too late now.

It’s always good to win. I will enjoy it for sure. But how about stringing some wins together? How about some consistency?

In fact, I will remain skeptical until this HC wins in the playoffs. Specifically gets at least a win in a divisional round game, taking us to an NFC championship game. Yeah, until then, what has he really accomplished?
I think we all join you in those thoughts.

We are freaking spoiled as fans.

My answer to the OP is ... find your reason !

Demand Garrett be fired !

9 years won't be erased by one game that puts us at .5000
maybe so..

But if we had another game like last week..

some of the lemmings here would have jumped..

to the Houston Texans I am sure.
