We would have been happy to make the Super Bowl and there wouldn't be any shame in losing to the greatest QB of all time in record fashion.

I'm already over the playoff loss to Green Bay but losing like that in the Super Bowl would've haunted me until I die like the Catch has......that tells me all I need to know. Losing in the Super Bowl is always the worst possible kind of loss but the way the Falcons lost is historic. I would've hated to be a Seahawk fan and lose like they did too. That was also brutal.
Randy Whites fumble with a cast on his arm still haunts me to this day. All Cowboy SB losses were close and heartbreaking.

I've been through something very similar with the Rangers. As painful as that loss was, I would still rather have made it to the SB and lost in a heartbreaking, near impossible scenario than to have not made it. I don't wish the Rangers went out in Rd 1 and I don't wish they would have gotten swept or blown out. It wasn't the way I wanted that to end, but I'll always take being there over not.
I disagree. That last Rangers loss in the world series (the way they lost after having it completely within hand) totally ripped my heart out. I have not watched a single Rangers game since, and I was a fan for many many years. I wish they never ever made that world series instead of having lost in that manner.

Man, I'm exactly the same. I watched the Rangers for DECADES. Always rooting for them and never really caring if we won anything. I just loved them because they were my team. All that changed after that WS. I have not and will never watch another Rangers game. That organization is nothing to me now. I too wish they never even made it to the WS.

Everyone has an opinion. I simply don't share yours. :)

The shame would be blowing a 25 point lead in the 3rd. Brady or no Brady.
But that's exactly what I'm saying. Blowing 25 point lead would be shameful to almost anybody but the greatest QB of all time making history,

Apparently the Falcons follow the same logic as some people here. The offensive play-calling is historically bad with a late lead, giving New England a chance to come back. So they fire the defensive coordinator.

No, you are completely wrong. There will be a lifetime of shame for the Falcons in losing they way they did. I dont care who the QB was.
Your certainly allowed to have your perception.

Who you lose to though makes all the difference much like our championship losses to the Packers and Steelers.

I didn't even take our playoff loss this year that tough because we lost to one of the greatest QB in an incredible hot streak. We made a valiant effort.

And Atlanta made a great effort but the heart of the greatest champion in the Super Bowl era was not going to be denied.

Brady forced his will in those last 2 drives which also needed 2 2 point conversions to extend the game . Was there any doubt when they won the toss in OT they'd go down and score a TD?

Falcons players have nothing to be ashamed about. Their coaching staff on the other hand...

Media doesn't seem to be making a big deal about it. If this was the cowboys...
Doesn't mean much.

Atlanta is based on Ryan throwing..he throws too much..

Doesn't know how to control the clock.

We would not play that way.

We would run the ball giving Brady less time to score.

But it was the offensive play calling in the 2nd half, not running the ball that was shameful. I think only 9 running plays in 2nd half. Brady wasn't playing defense.

I think Ryan is a terrific passer... But as a leader he doesn't knock my socks off.

The Falcon defense isn't stout, but they did pressure Brady and they did stop the run for the most part.

The Falcons have an awful secondary... And by the 4th quarter the defensive line was gassed and the Falcon secondary was the Falcon secondary.
Ryan is definitely a leader. Not sure where that comes from. And PFF rated the Falcons secondary #6 this year. They really aren't bad at all. Neal is the best safety from the 16 draft,Trufant is a pro bowler (injured), Alford had a pick 6 on Brady. Jalen Collins looks to be a good one too...2nd rounder from LSU.
