My oldest son's favourite team is the Falcons and it was crushing to see my 11 year old son go to his room after the game and put his head under the covers.

That's no alot of fun for a father who enjoys watching football games with his boys. My other son is a Seahawks fan.

As for the game, I'm not sure if Jones is understanding the importance of the games he is in. There seems to be a lack of intensity on his running, especially when the play is stuffed.

I like how BP is using this situation with Jones and Barber though. In the 4th when the defence is tired he brings on a heavy dose of Barber who must demoralize the defence with his fresh and harder running legs.

Can't for the life of me understand how we are not able to cover a FB. Is our coverage schemes so complex that the LBs are unable to coordiante who has the right flat and who covers the left flat?

Lastly, do you get the feeling that the opposing OCs are determined to have their QBs throw down the field once they see the last names on the jerseys of our DBs be it Newman, Henry, Williams or Watkins/Davis?

Is Zimmer more than willing to take his chances with deep shots as opposed to giving up the middle of the field by keeping one of his safeties back deep?

It seems to be a departure from the old bend, but don't break defence of the Campo days.

Despite my son's feelings, this was a less than satisfying win and I still have a queasy feeling about the team.

If it makes you feel any better... there was nothing you could do about the result of the game... but now you can help convert your son to the Cowboys :D

No doubt the victory dance and spiking the Nerf football in front of him didn't help,,, ;)

...the boys are football fans and willing to watch the Cowboys as their second favourite team.

In this Madden era it's hard to convince young boys to look past all the Vicks and Halls of the league.

A guy like Marion Barber is not as attractive to them, but if they would look beyond the video game play....

My dad was born in Ft. Worth in 1955, and he has raised me to be a cowboys fan. If I was only able to have on sports team to root for, it would be the cowboys, hands down. I might not have been born in Dallas, but there isn't a team in the world that I love more then my Cowboys.

...a bad idea for the two of us to watch the game together. My second son could feel the vibes in the room and he was as quiet as a mouse for the whole fourth quarter because he knew what this meant for his older brother.

My wife was nervous. She told it wasn't a good idea.

What would cure the ache in our family is if the Falcons beat the Eagles in the final week.

I told my wife that I would make it a point of getting some special snacks for the game and really make it a family event to cheer the Eagles to a loss. That's the least I could do for my first born.

...that's a low blow! I've tried everything with those two. Since they have been born it has been nothing but Cowboys.

It was deflating when three years ago he wrote on his Santa List that he wanted a Michael Vick jersey.

It's really QC's fault. In Madden 04 my son loves to rack up the score with Vick. Carter can't do squat in the game according to him.

The years after that aren't any better. He gets to choose from Hutch, Vinny and Bledsoe.

Maybe with 08 and Romo I can get him excited about his second favourite team and nose them into the lead.

He's still young and impressionable.

Shouting "In your face!" 17 times probably didn't help his confidence.

that has got to be tough, but unless you live in Georgia the kid might learn a lesson about not letting ESPN and the hype pick your team. :) i'm miffed how anyone can be a seahawks fan outside seattle either but the way kids are these days....
