Their corners are average.
They have a FS that is making his first start.

I can see JJ breaking a few big ones if he gets into the open field. Bledsoe should be able to lite up the secondary this week. 34-17 Dallas!

Agreed, we need JJ to keep them honest because their front 7 is pretty stout, but we have to get big plays on that secondary. I say we do it early to soften them up then let JJ go to work.

We don't score 30 some points too often . . . .

I would be estatic if we FINALLY won an opening game of the regular season.

However, our LBs really need to play sound football on defense. It's asking a lot given it's our first real game in the 3-4. There are going to be a lot of growing pains . . . .

I think it is more likely to be a low scoring game than a high scoring game. If either team reaches the thirties I will be shocked.

That's a bit misleading, it's not his first start *ever*, it's his first start for the Chargers. He started four or five games last year for the Packers.

But this, by the way, illustrates my point about every team in the league having holes. With all the whining and gnashing of teeth here about RT and FS, all one has to do is look to San Diego who, like us, has questions at FS (Bhawoh Jue ???), a weak WR corps, is without their starting TE, and two questionable cornerbacks (Jammer is adequate, but Florence wouldn't be the 4th CB on this team).

I think BP would love to establish run first to set up the pass, but this week I bet/hope we pass to set up the run....we really do need to attack right out of the gate. They will have 8 in the box....make them back off and run lots of play action to open lanes for JJ. In the 4th qtr have A-train pound the ball down their throats with a little change of pace TT...then back to JJ to finish them off...lol.

Heck I would not mind seeing play-action bomb on the 1st play of the game, just to get SD thinking

That would be sweet....reunite the Bledsoe to Glenn connection.

Get them in mismatches -

You beat a 3-4 by spreading it wide. Go in the no huddle and don't let them adjust. Start picking them apart and then hit him them with JJ in space.

We need to dictate tempo.

Run, Run, pass is not going to work - JMO

Not to mention how predictable it has become in Dallas.....

I would be perfectly happy to start with Glenn, Crayton, Keys, and Price on the opening drive....open it up. Four wide all the way down the field....ok getting carried away here.

I agree - they will just stack the box if we do that. We need to hit a pass or two to open up, get them honest in the box, then run a draw or wham. I don't want those LBers getting comfortable just waiting for Julius.

What if they thought that we would come out PASS PASS RUN and came prepared for it. Shouldn't we go back to the old predictable RUN RUN PASS just to throw them off?

Uhh... Never mind. :eek::

I totally agree Nors we have to hit them hard passing.

I would play it relatively conservative on the first series. We can't afford a turnover on the first series. Plus, I'd like Julius to get at least 2 runs on the first series.
