Instead of moving from thread to thread and telling us how the team screwed up, made dumb picks, didnt do this, Jones is an idiot, it was like 1995, team got worse etc etc.

Kindly take some time and tell us what YOU would have done differently. Please spare us the vague "there were better people available" and the "I would have moved up"...Explain it. Tell us who'd you have picked instead of the guys we did, or if you were going to move up tell us for who, with who and what we'd have given up to accomplish that.

This should be interesting.

Good luck with this thread David. The haters usually don't know why they hate ... they just do.

I thought we had a pretty solid draft overall. This year's draft wasn't about finding starters. It was about "churning the bottom of the roster" and putting veterans on notice about performance. I'm looking forward to a highly competitive TC.

I certainly don't have a prob with our draft. I like our picks. I was wishing for Rashad Johnson and Mike Thomas. They seemed to fit the direction we were going with high character "football players". All in all I think it was a solid draft.

That is the thing, most who hate will hate no matter what. Alas, the world will still go on without them.

We drafted special teams players so our team better be dang good on special teams next year if you're willing to dedicate a draft towards it.

You can't just look at this draft class in light of the past 2 days.

The fact is the make up of this draft class is the direct result of some bad personnel decisions in the past 3-5 years.

Jerry himself said that in his PC last night.

The decisions made over the weekend are designed to save Jerry $$ over the next few years.

That's not a criticism, that's just stating the facts. I hope these guys turn out to be good football players.

Most of the bashers were not familiar with any names out side of the top 65 anyway, and spent entirely too much time evaluating what they did know from bad mock drafts, that are mostly irrelevant after the top 10.

Because this team didnt leave day one with a Robiskie or Dhelmas, after that point, no matter what the outcome, they would consider this draft a failure.

There is a reason why the war room didnt take a WR until the end, and there is a reason why they tend not to consider one high, historically.

Meat and potatoes draft here guys, those that appreciate the additions made in this draft, probably also have a more astute understanding of the franchise.

I've got no reason to be opposed to the draft, and I feel like we got a lot of value where we were, but I'll admit to wishing we did at least one thing - I feel like we could have moved into position to get Rey Maualuga without really sacrificing our ability to get almost every other player we picked.

Of course, we know that in retrospect, so it's a little harder to know what it really would have taken to move up to the higher part of the 2nd.

He's just a player I feel like would have been more effective as a 3-down LB than people give him credit for. But clearly scouts who know more than I do disagreed.

Other than that, hard to say until we see how these players turn out. I'd never really heard of Butler or Brewster, so the picks took me aback, but it obviously makes sense to reserve judgment.

I didn't like our draft until I heard the Jerry presser last night.

I'm happy because we got McGee and there are plenty of Cowboy fans that are also Aggie fans. Now the draft looks better.

I didn't hate the Cowboys draft. I don't love it, either. They didn't have a lot of freedom because of the picks used to acquire Roy Williams. That limited their ability to get some of the talent that was available.

I would liked to have seen another guy on the offensive line. In fact I think they should have kept their 2nd round pick and grabbed the best available O-lineman at that spot. Perhaps even the OG that the Bills drafted with that pick.

I think they did a decent, average job. I don't see why this draft doesn't warrant a C. I think a C is a good grade for not having a 1st round pick and this not being a particular strong draft pool.

Your first four picks are DE, DE, G, QB... which is about exactly what we ended up with. Just instead of the guys you said... we ended up with guys that our scouts liked better.

We got a developmental QB, a hopeful at G, and plenty of LB help just like you wanted. It was just different guys who had less household names than you picked.

Us fans not knowing the names of the players doesn't mean much. I remember when they trotted out Darren Woodson's name and I said, "Who?"

I am more worried after seeing their body language at the presser that Jerry/Stephen are more concerned about spinning this draft. I am concerned that they think our receiving corp is adequate when all of our competition publicly calls them pedestrian/average.
I hope Joe D is a special man as it is clear he has the respect of Jerry and the boys.
I would of looked into a receiver more in the fourth round and I pray I am so wrong but this smells a lot like the bull we were shoveled on the backup QB situation last year. I am also happy for McGee as this says that they are being adult with Tony and that his lapse's need to be addressed and a long term plan put in place.
I like the kid from Tech, had not really heard about him but it is clear the way Wade talks about him that he is excited.
No way to rate this draft today except well see.

First I wouldn't have given up a 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks for Roy Williams. Not saying I don't like Roy, but that was too much to give up.

Secondly, I would've kept our 2nd round pick and taken OT William Beatty or Vollmer. They should be better than Brewster and I'd easily take one of them over him.

But to keep things from getting too complicated, I'll post who I would've taken or chosen from with the exact picks that we ended up using.

3 (5) DE Michael Johnson or OT A. Caldwell
3 (11) WR Brandon Tate
4 (1) QB Stephen McGee
4 (10) S Chip Vaughn or DB D.J. Moore
4 (20) LB Sidbury or OT Kropog
5 (7) LB Marcus Freeman or OT Fenuki Topou
5 (30) S Michael Hamlin or OG Herman Johnson
5 (36) CB Coy Francies
6 (24) LB Stephen Hodge
6 (35) TE John Phillips
7 (18) CB Mike Micken
7 (20) DE Ricky Jean-Fracois or LB Zack Follet
