Aubrey has become a liability

Come on folks. You have to read past the title. The OP isn't saying Aubrey is personally a liability because he missed a couple field goals. He is saying just the opposite.

He is probably not wrong in suggesting that having that ace in the hole affects the play calling in certain situations. I would take it one step farther and suggest that it feeds Dak's already cautious nature.

On another note, these long field goals are bad for the game imo.
Yeah, I definitely get what the OP is trying to say, he just definitely click-baited everybody into it.

Settle down.

When the offense has to settle for as many LONG field goals as this offense has... the odds catch up eventually.

13 FG attempts of 50+

He'll be fine.
yeah after we pay him he'll be really fine he'll miss kicks like nobody's ever seen before!!

He is so good that Schotty is using him to scheme his play calling. Anytime we get across the 50 he gets conservative. The assume the man will make them all.
Tell me you don't know anything about football by telling me you don't know anything about football.

Dude, you get what he’s saying cuz you have adequate reading comprehension skills. As for many others…oh well.

To answer the OP, I felt this way last year but don’t sense Schotty has throttled down. The offense just misfires giving Aubrey more opportunities.

It’s very clear this topic is a backhanded compliment to Aubrey as much as it is a dig at the Schotty.

I never said Aubrey is the problem. The problem is Schotty is using his ability to cover the weakness’s in his play calling.
people who read your post will likely see this point in the body of your post.

But some folks just see the thread title. And candidly--you set yourself up to get torched with the title.
With a thread title like that people are going to come in pissed off and ready to rip your head off .....

After Nick folk, Jerry Jones vowed to never pay a kicker big money, and I’ll tell you why. It’s all psychological. If you watch any NFL kicker pregame during warm-ups when there’s no pressure of the game they make every single kick from all distances. It’s the pressure of the game in the psychology that gets in your head that affects that in one way or another eventually every kicker goes sideways no matter how good they are. I’ve seen it throughout my 40 years of watching the NFL. Just about the time you think they’re invincible, they can’t miss they can kick 65 yarder’s like extra points? It all unravels. It’s like the second baseman for the New York Yankees years ago that missed a throw to first base. It got in his head, and he started throwing all kinds of throws all over the place and he had to retire early, literally just psychological. Well, NFL kickers are exactly the same. Once they lose that psyche it’s over.

A liabilty? Lmao. He missed 2 FGs and he's a liability? Lmao...this group, I tell ya
Dude.... First you demand I prove something I never said...now you can't read, or at least understand what it is you are reading.

Looking for fights on the internet whilst also suffering from cognitive bias...what a terrible affliction. For all of us.

You could have had a better case if you said he is influencing the offense to go conservative instead of calling him a liability
If you're tendency is considering the "automatic" FG while calling plays...it's not just "influencing"...it's a crtuch and therefore liability.

You gotta think and act like it's going into the endzone.

Having one of the best kickers in league history no doubt affects playcalling on occasion. That’s a pretty obvious thing.

I made a similar observation a couple of weeks back that I felt the offense stopped getting aggressive in moving the football once they got past midfield, because of the comfort of knowing Aubrey will give them 3 points. Aubrey is not the problem - I'm sure he would not object to kicking FGs inside of 40 yards or kicking extra points for most of the game.
We have an offense that has struggled lately to even advance the ball into red zone territory. With this defense, the offense's goal should be trying to score as many TDs as possible.
