Aubrey has become a liability

Come on folks. You have to read past the title. The OP isn't saying Aubrey is personally a liability because he missed a couple field goals. He is saying just the opposite.

He is probably not wrong in suggesting that having that ace in the hole affects the play calling in certain situations. I would take it one step farther and suggest that it feeds Dak's already cautious nature.

On another note, these long field goals are bad for the game imo.
Yeah I get what is being said and I disagree. Except for a couple of games, the offense has delivered this season. We fought the packers to a standstill and they are a great team. We beat the eagles and scored with some if the top teams on tough defenses.. while there are things I do not like about end arounds and receiver rushes, and Daks decisions at times, by and large the offense is not the problem.

Almost EVERY TIME UNLESS you are down LATE or WAY down, you TAKE POINTS on anything over 4th and 1... And even 4th and 1 if you are not deep in their territory.

No exceptions THAT IS good decision making in pro football.

The odds say super aggressiveness on 4th down leads to losses.

GREAT teams do not have to go on 4th and 1 until the odds say they do (down late or way down) because they convert 3rd downs

not a liability, more dependent on. You got too comfortable sending the kicker out, when you should have gone for it on 4th down instead of going up 6

He's a kicker, no matter how much you love him. Sooner or later, they all go mental

He is so good that Schotty is using him to scheme his play calling. Anytime we get across the 50 he gets conservative. The assume the man will make them all.
This is actually why this team is sitting in the Eastern Division with a losing record. Look at Detroit and LA, their HCs have their foot squarely on the gas pedal.

This just in: Brandon Aubrey is, indeed, a human being that can make mistakes.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Jerry-Stephen-Schotty-Eberflus-Dak-Pickens-Diggs hate-a-thon.

The problem is are you willing to work hard for MORE points...or lazily settle for LESS points.

I think the offense suffers from slow starts. We have a VERY low 1st qtr and 1st half average points. These 3 and outs, short TOP, and a coupel FGs put a lot of pressure on our already bad defense.

When was the last time WE had 21 pts in 1st half? Not often. But we can score 28 in the 2nd when the defense is blown up. Philly was an anomaly it usually doesn;t work well for us.

I’m just gonna pretend you didn’t say that.

A liabilty? Lmao. He missed 2 FGs and he's a liability? Lmao...this group, I tell ya
Reading is fundamental.
Reading AND comprehending is the bomb, old fellow.
So re-read the post and you will know that the OP isn't criticizing Aubrey but pointing out that his automatic 3 points is dictating Junior's scheme.
Re-read at your leisure. :)

Dallas Cowboys culture of doing just enough to stay relevant is starting to infect Aubrey no doubt..who's next? JWill? Big Q?

somewhat true, but when you are leading it gives you a next drive to get a TD. there is no guarantee you are going to make a 4th and 3 and in a lot of situations it is against the odds. if you DON'T take the points in those situations its going to leave you worse off than if you had.

long story short, if you want TD's and to protect your defense, don't put yourself in a hole, put yourself in position to convert 3rd down and short and play smart football to get off to a quick start.

No kicker in the league past and present has never missed a field goal their entire career. Good grief Aubrey likely has made over a hundred kicks to date and been successful almost 90% of the time. He ranks third best kicker in NFL history thus far in his young career. Why cut him loose?
