I believe Aikman said last year that kill, kill, kill, called for Max protection. I would assume Romo yells it on run plays as well not to tip off that it’s a pass.

Now I’m not a coach but I would assume anybody with any type of common sense would not use kill, kill, kill as a means to audible to a run or believe this to be true.

I'm curious to see stats on this. Verification of run only out of 'kill' audible. Percent of runs to left, middle, right. Yards gained. Down situation.

This is an elaborate ruse waiting for that perfect moment in the Super Bowl on 4th and goal from the 2 yard line when were down by 5 with 10 seconds left.

It's interesting that anyone has any opinion on what they're checking out of and into with that. Just because we hear them say KILL!KILL!KILL! doesn't mean any of us have a clue what the play was supposed to be prior to that.

For all any of us know they could have been calling an outside run the whole time and that moves it to inside, or as pointed out earlier in this thread, they called an inside run, or pass, or whatever, and did that and then went with a toss to Felix to the outside.

I dont think we're claiming to know what the audible call is. I'm just saying that it's more than a coincidence that every singe time in the past 1-2 seasons Romo yells "kill", they run the ball inside.
Oddly enough, Philly and NYG are really the only teams i can remember that actually seemed to react to Romo yelling "kill".

Like I said earlier. We have trips right one time, Romo yells kill, and we tossed it out to Felix to the right.

typically "omaha" has been used as a line audible, and called by a lineman, to tell someone to pick up a blitz or change blocking assignments. It means different things for for every team im sure but i thought it was pretty universal.

I hate the "kill, kill, kill" audible as well.

It's ridiculous. Let Tony get up there and change the play. He's smart enough to make a switch if he thinks the D is in a position to stop what is called.

Peyton Manning yells "Omaha" about 100 times per game.

Of course, who knows what the hell he's got going on. He's unreal. Might be the best QB of all time in terms of command of the game.

It's been the same for at least 2+ years now. The audible "Kill Kill Kill" is always followed by an inside run either a draw or dive. This has been discussed to death it seems but it's beyond me why the coaches make it so easy to diagnose what play is about to be run. I guess they added "Omaha" in an attempt to disguise the obvious.

thats not true, they sometimes run a toss or off tackle as well....

They are just setting up the defenses with this audible...come playoff time in a tight game, Romo is gonna call kill, kill, kill and then run a playaction pass deep to austin for a td......i hope

"kill" does not mean its a run.

It means he's "killing" the play that was called in the huddle.

I actually realized that. My issue with the whole process is that the audible always seems to result in a run...

Most likely because a pass has been called, and Romo does not like what the defense is giving him for a passing play, so he kills it into a run.

This is just a guess, but go back and watch the first Washington game last year. I will bet Romo said "kill, kill" many times when Wash lined up 8 in the box to fool Romo into audibling into a pass.

This.

It's not an audible, it's an indication that he's audibling into something different.

So all you guys are really saying is that Romo audibles into runs but not into passes, which is fine.

Yep, and I bet the Omaha call is to put the play back "on", basicly a dummy audible....

The only thing I can think of is that maybe it's reverse psychology? Maybe they are still doing it in preseason so that defensive players think they are still doing that then when the season comes around it means something completly different.

I can't imagine they would still do it. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed ripped Garrett because of his "vanila" offense.
