He's got 2 years left on his current contract so I can understand why the Cards don't want to renegotiate at this time dispite their comments to the contrary. After all, they did tear up his rookie contract in 2005 & give him a new contract with lot more money. On the other hand, they also shelled out huge money to Fritz and it very difficult for Boldin to accept that contract since he also a pro bowler.

If he seriously doesn't plan to resign with the Cards once this contract runs out after 2009 season, then they'd either have to franchise him as WR with top 5 salary, etc. It's not outside of the realm of possibility he could become a viable target for the Cowboys after the 08 season ends. Assume the price would at least be our #1 WR but probably also a 2nd rounder which maybe we can give them he next year. But and there's a big but, is Boldin a legit #1WR should TO go down or is he really a quality #2 WR and we'd still need that #1 guy.

Sure be interested to know what Romo thought of him since they played together in the pro bowl in 2008; believe Romo throw a TD pass to him.
