Here's Miles Austin on Galloway and Company talking about this upcoming 2009 season...

Austin on GAC

Good grief. So Romo was at the Lakers game? Was he supposed to go back in his box after the OTA's?

The next great WR for the Dallas Cowboys. I kind of like that. And I know he's got a long road ahead of him, but I do think Austin has the tools to become more than just a solid #2 or #3 WR for this team.

Very happy to hear that Miles didn't get involved in the BS last season.

I remember last preseason when Romo was talking up Austin a whole lot and I think some of that belief in this kid comes from the way Austin goes about his business. He's not a trouble maker and he's ready to play football, not start some BS about his role on the team or about how many footballs are being thrown his way.

The injury stuff. He has to be on the field to be anything more than potential. If he can't stay on the field then he can't help the Dallas Cowboys.

Every time you hear this kid you always come away thinking that he has the right attitude. That's half the battle for a young guy like this who has the talent but still has to refine his game so he can make an impact in the NFL. Basically I think Miles Austin gets it people!

There isn't any way in hell Miles Austin listened to George Strait growing up in Jersey, lol.

Here's Jason Witten from the OTA's...

Witten talksTE Combo, plus more

There is no doubt that Witten and Marty B are already one of the better TE combos in the league. We just have to see Jason Garrett use their abilities in this offense to a point where it creates problems for the defense.

Here's Marty B from the OTA's...

Marty B talks Beans and Rice

I like his attitude about being more consistent this season. He's a young guy who just needs some more maturity before he can reach his full potential.

The thing I like about Austin is he is very unselfish. He will do whatever it takes to help the team - cover kicks, return kicks, etc....not that he will be covering kicks any longer but I like the attitude. He is not a pre-madonna.

Hurd is very much the same way....

How awesome is it that Witten is only 27.?

Barber turns 26 in a few days.

Felix is 23.

Choice is 24.

Romo is 29.

Flozel, Brooking, Colombo, Gurode, Bigg, Gurode, Newman, Crayton, McBriar, and Kitna are the only players we have born in the 70s. The rest are 80s babies, and that my friend is a very very good sign.

Not for me but I think that video may have already been posted. Unless this is the 2nd time they've done a story on rice and beans.

LOL again DC, he can go out and have fun, but not at the expense of another career in golf; i sent you a message, romo has done a rock band failed in that, never finished in a big game in college in football, never won a big game in dallas when it mattered, never qualified for U S open after 3 to 4 tries since 2004,

now add all of this up DC, do you see a pattern now, he never finishes when it matters the most. thats my point, so is he stretched too thin, trying to qualify in alot of things, but not one full time issue of being the best at one thing primarly the Dallas Cowboys? ;

thats my point DC

all except for the offensive linemen, flozell is 34, gurode is 30, columbo is 30, leonard davis is 31, Holland is 29, Kosier is 30, these offensive linemen are starting to get old in the tooth; and we have really no good backup offensive linemen;

im told brewster while he has good feet isnt very strong, he is kinda like doug free, brewster is athletic but not strong like he needs to be

i was very high on doug free and i admit that, but free has been here since 2007, plenty of time for him to get strong if he wanted too, you have to want to, now im beginning to question doug free's heart, grit and determination,

sometimes im wrong about players, or you need to do rethinking on a player to get him to do what he needs to do,, someone needs to get on doug free's you know what and push him;

There isn't any way in hell Miles Austin listened to George Strait growing up in Jersey, lol.

Did you also hear what miles austin said DC, you never get enough playing time in OTAs, thats the point im trying to make DC. Just like when herb adderly came to the cowboys from packers he said, im going to show you what it takes, the little stuff your not doing, the extra little time after practice, spend an extra 30 minutes on it, just like roger staubach after practice spent an extra 30 minutes to an hour after OTAs practices were ended that day throwing to drew pearson, and what happened that year DC, it paid off because a rookie unheard of caught some big passes for the cowboys, just like everson walls spent extra time working, and you saw what he did his rookie year in interceptions, they spent extra time just throwing to each other.

Also, rayfield wright learned from herb adderly, its the little extra stuff you spend in practice after practice; rayfield wright after practice when coaches etc going home, rayfield was out there working with young harvey martin, and you saw the results didnt you dc, harvey was a young head hunter on defense his rookie year. Now did Rayfield like spending that extra time with Harvey No! but he knew only way for cowboys to get better and win, was to spend extra time with rookies etc, just like darren woodson said, i watched irvin through the glass window, he would be the only player left out there, and he would be running routes, till he threw up, then he did some more. Its the extra stuff you spend DC, just liike Aikman said, we had no ideal the extra stuff you had to do, till charles haley got here. Then we worked extra on that. Just like emmitt smith said, they all ran together showing the rookies and first year players, that dedication, hard work.

So, if a player leaves DC, instead of spending an extra 30 minutes or so with timing etc, then he is cutting himself short. I know, when I was working in an auto parts store, which I gave my heart and soul to it, I spent 80 to 90 hours a week, with extra time off the clock learning, growing, being better. And I got rewarded for it. Thats what these players have to learn DC, its not given to you on a silver platter, you have to work for it, and show how bad you want it.

Just like Michael Irvin tells players on 4th and one, how bad do you want it, you should want to run through a brick wall to get the opportunity your getting, show it, show heart, hard work, Just like after ratliff was on a weeks vacation after the pro bowl game in hawaii, he was back in valley ranch, working out to get better. Ratliff had a bad taste in his mouth, so he is working extra hard to get that taste out and win, thats what im talking about DC,. you dont see Ratliff pursuiing some other professional career, Ratliff wants to win and win badly, to be a champion.

You are beyond broken record mode at this point in time Joe.

Tony Romo isn't trying to become a professional golfer.

When did Tony Romo tell you he wanted to become a professional golfer while he's playing in the NFL?

its just a hunch i have dc; the way romo acts, the way he plays, etc;

most likely im wrong, i have been wrong before and right before, wont be the last time either; but i do remember romo saying he will retired when witten retires;

youve got to remember romo has been playing alittle of professional golf since 2004, and he has lost in 3 to 4 tries in U S open, etc, you did get the private message where i listed the tournaments he missed right dc?

So your hunch is that Romo wants to play on the PGA tour in the Spring and Summer while he trains for the NFL season which arrives in the Fall?

no, during OTA times, when he is trying to qualify for the golf tournaments, and he just misses each time; BUT IF HE HITS AND QUALIFIES, THEN HE IS IN; SO THEN WHAT HAPPENS DC WHEN HE QUALIFIES?

Tony Romo was born in San Diego, where his father was serving in the military, but his family returned to their home in Burlington, Wisconsin when he was 2 years old. Playing quarterback for the Burlington Demons his junior and senior year of High School, he was unable to lead the team to a winning record, though he did make the All-Racine County football team and was honorable mention all-state in basketball.

Tony Romo is an avid amateur golfer, and attempted to qualify for the 2004 EDS Byron Nelson Championship and the 2005 U.S. Open, but missed the cut. During the offseason, when not training, he is known to play golf around Dallas.
he also missed in some big golf tournament in 2008, and as you know he missed this year too;

so think about it, if he qualifies, then he is in, but he keeps missing;

why?

then remember deion sanders played 2 professional sports, baseball and football;

I think he'll be here for another 7-8 years. It's not like he uses his blazing speed to get open. He's just a smart TE that knows how to get open. i can easily see him playing till he's 34-35 like Tony G.
