Broaddus: Film study on GAC

By dcfanatic,

Every Tuesday Bryan Broaddus gives us the scoop on what he saw from the Cowboys on the game tape during his appearance on Galloway and Company.

Today he begins with some info on Roy Williams really only having some success with the slant route and not much else...

I didn't think Leonard Davis was all that great either. He's got to be more consistent. Coming up with a few big pancake blocks is great, but creating running lanes on 4 out of every 6 running plays would help the offense out a whole lot more. The entire offensive line has to start doing a better job if the Cowboys running game wants to be as good as they were in the beginning of this season.

If I had to guess I say the Cowboys will be telling Terence Newman to follow Desean Jackson all over the field on Sunday. And I still don't think that's
going to be enough to completely shut him down. The kid is the real deal and there had better be a Safety over the top helping out most of the time.

Brooking was a beast last Sunday. And he's probably going to be a beast this Sunday again. He's feeling it right now and it should continue.

I think Newman with safety help up top can contain Jackson. I also think Jenkins can do an adequate job against his man (probably Maclin). What worries me is that we will have a busted coverage in our zone, and they will rip off a big gain. Jackson seems to come up with those often.

Davis in Pro Bowl form

DALLAS - Since joining the Cowboys as a free agent after the 2006 season, RG Leonard Davis has been the cornerstone of the offensive line, earning two-straight trips to the Pro Bowl.

On Sunday, the Texas alum made it clear he's determined to play in the all-star game a third-straight time.

"Leonard Davis had one of his best games," coach Wade Phillips said Monday. "He's so powerful, and it was really evident in this ball game. He had a lot of knockdowns, run-overs, whatever you want to call them. He was a force."

I don't really listen to this podcast but I really have to doubt some of his analysis. Igor wasn't that good? Did I watch the same game he did?

Siavii wasn't as good as he was against Atlanta but he wasn't a weak point by any chance.

And he sang the praises of Brooking but failed to mention that 2 of the long runs that Seattle got off draws happened becuase Brooking hit the wrong hole. There was one play where Siavii was double teamed and held up pretty good and Brooking vacated the hole and went to another hole that was already covered stoutly by James, allow Julius to run through for about 10 yards and a first down.
