Got a chance to check out Trent Dilfer, who's become one of my favorite analyst, on The Herd today over at ESPN Radio.

Just listen and then tell me think Tony Romo has it easy when he steps on the football field...

Dilfer on The Herd

Now imagine all that and some WR giving you dirty looks because he isn't getting his touches. Then imagine having to worry about your broken hand not taking any hits for about three games. And let's not forget the fact that the other team has some pretty damn good players running around as well.

Mods, if this is a repost please delete but I did not see it any where.

Dilfer was asked who was the best team in the NFC east last night and he commented that without question that it was the Dallas Cowboys due to addition by subtraction. Getting rid of TO will make Romo a better qb. Plus having Felix Jones and the def. will improve.

Same question was asked to Mark Schelith (sp) and he agreed that the Boys will improve but he said the Eagles. No body mentioned the Giants.

Sorry about that. I am out of town and saw it late last night. Just got the opportunity to report it.

Trent Dilfer is cool:D but seriously I just think Dilfer is expecting our team to finally play up to there potential so than he can say "I told you so" to the people that doubted our boys.

I hope he gets to do just that!

Great bit there...good find, and a good slice of QB thought and decision making process.

Brilliant...and like he said...he was keeping it simple...another solid listen is Rich Gannon if you have Sirius. In my opinion he just surpassed Jim Miller as the "must listen" on channel 124.

WOW, I was listening to the radio and I happened to flip on herd. BTW, I hate him because of his anti-dallas BS. He said listen to the last 2 minutes of his interview with Dilfer. That was one of the best interviews I've heard in a while.

I will be walking on cloud 9 if it does happen.

I am taking what every analyst says with a grain of salt but Dilfer has some very valid points about Romo. Good post.

I have never been much of a fan of the Wonderlic (because of issues like apple being the right answer instead of orange) but if it somehow measures ability to process information quickly, perhaps there is something to it.

'Cause that all seems to be about processing loads of information quickly and accurately.

Dilfer was impressive, and funny, in getting his point across. Will have to give Gannon a listen as well.

Gannon is awesome...just bringing up stuff, and then explaining how, like today on how QBs are trained to protect three things:

a) Their heads (do not take any uneccessary hits),
b) Their shoulders (a major concern as DTs have recently been coached in driving QBs to the turf shoudlers first),
and c) Their knees (throwing from diffeerent foot platforms, using vision to move in the pocket, etc.)

Stuff that you understand, but then get information on how these things are "done." By the way...he stated in Oakland's last Super Bowl that they made mental errors on 17 of the first 19 plays due to not working with their back-up center after their starter had his mental health episode (not the "reason they lost, but a series of "issues that were difficult to overcome.")
