It's about the leader coming to the troops and saying 'hey, we got out butts kicked on this one, but I still have your backs and we have to find a way to come back next time'.

Instead of saying he still had their backs he left them to make up their own conclusions about what he thought about how the season ended.

That isn't a very good leader IMO.

And about Reeves getting the keys thing.

I will use the old QB analogy.

If you go around talking about 'having two quarterbacks' you are really telling everyone 'you don't even have one'.

Do you think Parcells, Noll, Cowher, Walsh, Belichick, etc need someone to go get the keys for them?

You think Mike Shanahan needs someone to go get the keys for him?

Didnt the Patriots just hire former Titans GM Floyd Reese to a consultant position???

So I guess is consultants are babysitters that "go get the keys for the head coach", then I guess Belichick DOES need somebody to get the keys for him also!!!

So if Hoodie doesnt have a problem with a consultant, why should Wade and why is it a bad idea if one of the winningest organizations in profootball is doing the same thing???

If the Pats hire Reese to be a consultant, how is that any different than the Boyz hiring Reeves to be a consultant.........but I dont hear anybody calling out the Pats???

Do I really have to tell you the difference or can you figure out the differences?

Why wait.

I will give you the three biggest and most important differences between Dallas and New England.

1. Reeves and Wade have history on the same staff as coaches. Belicheck and Reese worked together way back in 1975.

That means Reese is coming in with no bias to anyone.

2. Reese was a former GM. Reeves was a former HC.

Reese is coming on to help them with scouting and player development. Reeves is coming on to help Jason Garrett and to be Wade's BFF when dealing with Jerry. Plus they just lost Pioli so Reese is coming in to help Caserio, not Belicheck.

3. Are we seriously trying to say Bill 'aleady has won 3 Super Bowls' Belicheck is going to need someone when talking to Robert Craft? You seriously think that relationship in NE between Belicheck and Craft is anything remotely similar to the one going on here with Wade and Jerry?

Actually no one knows why Reeves may be coming on board nor what he will be asked to do. Both sides are assuming what they choose to believe.

Yes, because he's been hired and his role has been announced. Reeves has not been officially hired and whatever he's expected to do will be announced if/when that happens.

Wasn't offering any either. If you hadn't noticed I like to throw in the occasional comment here or there. Hope you don't mind. ;)

Sorry about that.

Let's call it a 'Theo Fail' lol.

That's when you actually try to epic fail.

Why anyone would want to do that I don't know.

And I see his role as more like what he did with the Texans. He sat in on meetings and watched how the game plans were developed etc.. He evaluated for the owner how the coaching stuff was doing. I do think due to his history with Wade he will try and assist Wade in making sure things are approached correctly and I do think he will make recommendations to Jerry regarding cleaning up that locker room to get better chemistry. Which again helps Wade a LOT. But all you guys that think he is coming in to be a vocal tough guy are going to be disappointed. Not unless he is named head coach anyway. His role is going to be to give a seasoned football voice regarding preparation of the team and evaluating the team and coaching staff.

If Wade wasn't here, the team wouldn't be going after him for a consultant position. And I seriuosly doubt that he'd be at the top of Jerry's list for HC, though that's not a knock on Reeves.

There isn't any doubt about it. Reeves just wants to work, period. There is no romance about being back with the Cowboys (although I am sure it will be sold that way). He is being brought on board primarily because he is someone who Phillips will not be threatened by. And no, he's not a head coaching candidate. If he is, Jerry Jones is really an imbecile considering there are many better candidates available.

I sure hope not, Reese totally sucked at scouting and drafting in Tennesse.

THATS KINDA WHY THEY FIRED HIS ARSE AS GM AFTER THE 2006 SEASON!!!!

As for the rest of your post............semantics, a consultant is a consultant is a consultant and if you think the Pats hiring the Titan's trash GM is sooooo much better than Dallas hiring Reeves..........whatever:rolleyes:
