Well, that receiver DID get us into scoring position in the first place. I didn't see the others doing especially well, either. Still would've liked a pass to Witten/Bennett, though.
It was after Romo scrambled out of the pocket and likely went down his receivers. It was a great individual play after the catch by Hurd, I'll give him credit.
BUT, Hurd was also lined up against Jack Williams that play, Andre Goodman's backup...NOT Champ 'Pro Bowl Caliber CB' Bailey.
And it's not so much when a play fails... it's when it fails after being called twice in a row. It's when you have their #1CB lined up on our #3/4 WR and our 6'3 #1 WR and our 6'6 TE are on the sideline with the game on the line, on the play that had Patrick Crayton, Miles Austin and Sam Hurd going for it. I honestly don't see what matchup advantages Garrett may have seen.
Maybe the size advantage? Hurd (6'2) Austin (6'3) and Crayton (6') vs Champ (6') Goodman (5'10) and Williams (5'9) respectively, but then you call a throw inside where size advantage is minimized? Hmm.
