Lo and behold he explained his fine for the first rap video. Exactly what I said the problem was, he used Cowboys gear as a prop. Eat crow all of you who didn't get it when we were trying to explain it.

Kid is flat out funny. Love the last line about drinking koolaid. You just know he was grinning from ear to ear as he said it.

That was nice!

The kid seems to be very sharp.

He is just a fun loving goofy 22 year old kid. As long as he takes care of his business, i hope he keeps his sense of humor.

Martellus is about as funny as a bag of hammers... time for the organization to put a stop to all his nonsense, his vids are stupid and not funny at all, they're idiotic, ofcource looks who makes them, thee biggest idiot on the team right now, too bad Martellus doesn't spend as much time on the playbook as he does with these stupid videos, if he did, he might be something, because as of now, he's a idiot...

Finally, I here an opinion that makes sense! I have no problem with someone having some fun but there is a thing called being a professional. The fact that he is a Dallas Cowboy means that he represents the Dallas Cowboys! ANYTHING he does off the field will reflect the organization. The video dogging homos was not funny but ridiculous and could be considered controversial. The Black Olympic is downright ignorant. As a black man if he cant see the stupidity in just the concept of a "Black Ol"

I cant finish this./

Why call him names? Even if you think his behavior is inappropriate, it's obvious his wit comes from a pretty sharp mind. His satire and brand of humor can heal a lot more than injure IMO. I think its harmless.

I also think some need to take a deep breath and look for your sense of humor. Let the FO deal with him and just enjoy the offbeat humor.

I have no problem with him doing whatever he wants on his off time. I haven't seen his videos so I can't say how funny they are or aren't.

I WAS following him on twitter however, and he wasn't even remotely funny when he was trying to be. Totally came off as ignorant. Spelling was horrific. I thought to myself, it's a good thing he's a talented football player cuz he doesn't appear to have much to fall back on.

One night from about 9:50 to 11:10 he sent 2-3 tweets every couple of minutes whining, complaining and ridiculing others about the stupidest stuff. At about 11 I sent a reply and said: "Did you forget to take your medication tonight or what?"

A couple days later I couldn't take any more and removed him. Thankfully I only have to like what he does on the field. Which is sad cuz I really wanna like the kid, he just makes it too difficult.

some of you have got to be a really horrible time to be around, lighten up.

life is better with a smile, not a scowl.

apparently, if someone doesn't have the exact same sense of humor as you then they are uptight, bitter, and not fun to be around.

when most find it funny and you are the exception, it's you, not the other way around.
how many of those same people would find him "funny" if he were a Commander?

The answer is... a fraction.

It's a case of people here wanting to like him because he dons the star on his helmet. So he gets the benefit of the doubt from many here when the reality is, some of us are able to see things for what they really are w/o being influenced by our love for the Cowboys.

sadly no, it's some people being fuddy duddies.

always one or two guys sitting in the audience in a comedy act saying to themselves and anyone who will hear them that the comedian isn't funny.

guys with arms crossed whole show who insist that those around them are clueless as to what real comedy is, say to themselves "I know 50 people funnier than that tool" when in reality it's just that you don't get it.

It's a case of you not wanting to like something, far more than we want to like it. Happens all the time, and seriously 9 times out of 10 its a case of fuddy duddy-itus.

Carlin didn't make me laugh, occasionally he made me think, but never laugh. I am not so foolish and arrogant to say he wasn't funny though, because clearly he was.

I think we just discovered the difference;
Carlin is/was my favorite comedian, ever.
Made me lol everytime.

nope, I honestly enjoyed Carlin for the audience reaction, I could see the joy he brought them and I could therefore enjoy it.

I can't sit in an audience full of laughter and deny the humor being present, just not my cup of tea. The same material approached differently could make me laugh, I don't like Carlin's delivery, but I could see the humor in the laughter of others. Even rearrange the material in my head, I just didn't like his delivery. The subject matters more than the delivery though, in a broader sense.

It's hard to explain. I have been fascinated by comedy most of my life, and approach it in odd ways. Almost as a sociology lesson.

Marty B TV isn't particularly objectionable or exceptional, IMO. He's just a good natured outgoing 22 year old kid with a camera.

It'll be interesting to see how he matures over the next 5 to 10 years under the spotlight. My guess is that he'll stay outspoken but will grow more serious, perhaps becoming something of a Charles Barkley type (glib, politically incorrect, seemingly impervious to crticism, who most folks either like or dislike). Time will tell.

Four:

sounds more to me like you have an appreciation for the very fact that someone is attempting to be funny, whether they are actually "funny" to you or not.

In response to your opinion of George Carlin, I'll post your own statement made earlier to me regarding Martellus...
"when most find it funny and you are the exception, it's you, not the other way around."

See what I'm saying?

I've heard "dumb as a bag of hammers" but not "as funny as a bag of hammers", not sure that's a good metaphor. When I think of humor or lack thereof, hammers don't jump to my mind, but that's just me.;)

But your point is correct. He's not funny. As someone pointed out, noone would be yucking it up if he was a Commander that's for sure. If he doesn't make a big step forward this year that will be a lot less funny though.
