Mickey on Ben and Skin
-------------------------------

They are talking about possibilities of Boldin coming to the Cowboys.

And also the Roy situation. And the WR spot in general.

I did talk to Ben before they talked to Mickey and I said the only way Boldin would play in Dallas this season is if Roy isn't on this team. The only way he leaves is in a three team deal, which isn't happening, where it's the Cowboys Cardinals and somebody else.

And we all know Roy is going to be here so Anquan Boldin won't be a Dallas Cowboy in 2009.

But if he stays with the Cardinals this season then you never know where he winds up in 2010. The Cardinals know how good the kid is so they are not going to part with him for anything less than a 'Kings Ransom'. His contract also has two more years on it so they have all the leverage in the world.

I don't agree with Mickey here.

Choice and Bennett for Boldin would be a good trade for both the Cards and Cowboys.

Choice is a 3rd RB on this team. Any way you cut it he's 3rd. Barring injuries, your 3rd RB is not as critical to the team's success as a 4th WR!

Barring injury a 3rd RB will hardly see the field. He'll get less snaps than our 4th WR.

Now I really like Choice and Bennett. Especially Bennett. Hate to lose them. But if it nets Boldin, we're a better team for it in 2009. There's room for him and plenty of balls for him. I want to go into the season with 4 WR's, who can play.

Ideal trade would be Choice and some combination of 2009 and 2010 picks that didn't include a 1st.

The only concern is the contract we'd have to give him. But he is under contract for 2 more seasons so it's not as if he has a lot of barging power here and would certainly take a reasonable discount for a long term deal and big bonus.

I think we would all like Boldin on this team, but there's just no way it happens. The Cards are going to want at least a first.

He's just no fun.

It's sportstalk radio. It's about crazy trade talk, drafting guys that are never going to be available and hating/loving different players.

I love sports talk radio.

Exactly. It's like he shot down everything and was playing devils advocate the whole time. It was a bit annoying.

you build through draft.....you dont take young studs and trade them for a soon to be 29 year old WR.....

I don't want Boldin on the team. Dallas doesn't need him. He is not better than Roy Williams. The Titans just went 13-3 with the great Justin Gage, and some Cowboys' fans are wanting Boldin. Can you say spoiled fanbase?

Draft Juaquin Iglesias and watch him make plays. He is worth 51, and he's a steal at 69. He runs great routes, has great hands, he's tough, and he can get deep. Importantly, he doesn't have a bad attitude and big mouth. Did we play the Patriots again, Patrick?

I would rather run 2 TE sets.

I'm not trading Martellus Bennett. He's just getting started, and I think if he keeps working hard, he can be a dominant player.

he was just keeping it real imo. I liked the fact he wasn't overreacting like most are on the Roy Williams situation. Roy will be very good for us this season as long as #9 gets in sync with him and learns to trust him.

Dallas will not trade for Anquan Boldin... And Roy Williams isn't going anywhere!

Word.

And neither is Tashard Choice, MBIII or Felix.

You like repeating alot of the same things huh? lol I think we got your point about us having Justin Gage and not Roy Williams in that other post.;)

There's a difference between keeping it real and just being a dik! His tone sounded like his best friend got shot and he was irritated at the world.

the thing that irritates me about what Mickey does is he blasts everything all the time as if the questions are just ridiculous. I remember last year when the same discussions were happening about Roy coming. He was all you cant have a steak on every plate. Salary cap, chemistry, hurting other positions. the same stuff we just heard. Only it happened and if anyone has an owner that is willing to play fantasy football with a team to make it successfull it is us. by the way I dont think it will happen, but it is the offseason and I would like to think it could.

NO WAY I get rid of Choice or Bennett for Boldin. These guys are our future. Once Bennett starts to get it...he has the ability to be the best TE in football (talent wise). And for some reason...Choice reminds me of a little known running back that we use to have....number 22. I don't make the trade. We don't need All Stars at every position...we've tried that route!

I was thinking the same thing. He's an arrogant prick who thinks he knows more than he really does about football. I've listen to him for awhile now and he's the same everytime he comes on the air. I use to listen to talkin Cowboys but I couldn't take the guys attitude with how he thinks he's all knowing and if anybody question his heroes on the team he goes into attack mode. The lunchbreak is pretty cool if you want Cowboy info.

a little off topic but does this mean mickey is done on the ticket?

If he is on the fan, where the cowboys are going to be broadcast this year is that the end of the mickaroo oin the ticket.

Come to think of it I havent heard a ranch report since the ticket ended the contract with the cowboys.

It will be weird listening to the draft and norm without mickey.

That's what I meant to post earlier... We never got the official word that the team was moving to 105.3, but this pretty much confirms it.

In a way, though, isn't it cool to find out this way and not have a three-ring-circus press conference just to announce something like this? (Not that that couldn't still be upcoming, I guess.)

Or wait, they didn't make it offcial, did they? I thought Barry Horn all but confirmed it, but then backed off on that. Not that we didn't expect it to eventually happen, but still.

But it's funny to me that it's now the Valley Ranch Report and not just the Ranch Report. What, did the Ticket have that copyrighted? :)
