Riveting Charles Haley interview on BaD Radio

By dcfanatic, October 3, 2009 5:49 pm

Earlier in the week I missed this interview but I just got a chance to check it out on the Best of BaD Radio and I was completely tuned in for the whole 30+ minutes listening to Charles talk with Bob, Dan and Donovan...

Charles Haley - Part 1

It's crazy that Charles Haley isn't in the Hall of Fame because he was one of the best pass rushers of all time. He impacted the game just like Deion did while playing CB and shutting down half the field. Haley scared QB's into throwing the ball way before they wanted to even if their targets weren't open yet.

Very in depth stuff about how Charles would loved to have made more friends while playing. Good stuff about his humble beginnings as well.

Charles Haley - Part 2

Dan is funny as hell. He will always go with the question we are thinking, but probably wouldn't ask.

Bob gets him to talk about some great stories going back to the incidents regarding Tim Harris. Seems like the story of Haley urinating thru a hole in the top of Harris' car is false. But he does have a story which is somewhat similar.

Back surgeries. Losing his wife. Anatomy.

This is a must listen.

Charles Haley went out of his way to be obnoxious and arrogant. Not a true Cowboy either imo, but I'm sure a lot of you will argue that fact. If he wants to know why he didn't "make more friends" he could start by looking in the mirror.

If you listened to the interview instead of popping off you would probably understand Haley a little better and know that he's not the same person he once was nor does he want to be that person.

That would be Harvey Martin.

That would be correct.

George Andrie would be second.

I would have to say that Ware is not far from being third on the list.

Needless to say Haley was one heck of a pass-rusher. But the best ever for the Dallas Cowboys?

Not if someone truly knows the history of the Dallas Cowboys.

Maybe if Haley spent less time masturbating during film sessions, he would have more friends.

Which is too bad really.

There's a difference between being a thug on the field and being one off of it. The Ravens (Ray Lewis for example) and Steelers (James Harrison for example) are thugs on the field. The problem with guys like Pacman and Tank is that they weren't thuggish on the field of play. Charles Haley was the in mold of the Ray Lewis' and James Harrison's of the world.

I know what he meant.

But after hearing about the type of guy Haley is (locker room behavior, how big of a **** he was), that's not the kind of players I want on this team, regardless of how badass he was on the field.

You can enjoy another 13 years without a playoff win.

Didn't say he wasn't, I'm just saying he applies it to what he does on the football field. The problem with the lowlifes Dallas has been herding is that they didn't play that way.
