-----------------------------------

Very interesting that Archer says he texted Romo the comments from Aikman and then Romo calls him back for an interview.

From there I would say Romo does care about perception, at least about Troy Aikman's perception, and that a good thing.

It's better news on Romo that the stuff we have gotten about his 'the world doesn't end' if we lose a football game stuff which has come out recently.

But Romo can talk all he wants. He has to translate that stuff to the field in 2009 and especially in the month of December.

Archer makes sense on Terrell Owens.

Listen to his take on it and really soak it in. He's not saying it's T.O.'s fault based on anything that he does. It's more about 'who he is' based on his past and about his teammates/coaches having to walk on egg shells around him because it's a fact that you lose him when you criticize him.

'Nothing is fabricated' - Todd Archer. He is one of the most trusted writers with the fans and his peers.

That's for the 'Ed Werder just makes stuff up out of thin air' club. Stop being complete homers.

Your recent dogma about how the media is somehow noble and misconstrued is getting old. I really like how you take all of the anti-TO propaganda at face value and then try to ridicule anyone that takes what they say with a grain of salt.

Todd Archer is now a paragon of truth and responsible journalism?

I'll grant you that he isn't as bad as McMahon and a lot of the others but he has the same pressures motivating him as the rest. I cannot speak for anyone else but in this particular climate where screaming fire gets you ratings, I don't really trust what anyone says in the media.

I typically like guys like Hill but even him I won't take what he says at face value. There is just too much questionable garbage thrown out there and given that it cannot all be true I am just going to question all of it.

You go ahead and pick and choose what you want to believe but I cannot logically justify doing the same.

From the news the only thing I will be truly interested to hear are interviews from Cowboys players, coaches and brass. All of these hidden sources, innuendos, fabrications and the occasionally legitimate story are not going to get a bit of credence from me. The bull crap is stacked so think that even the truth is coated in it.

I realize you like to peruse the various media outlets and I appreciate the work you do on the behalf of us all but really given all of what has been going on since October, I am not going to take any of it at face value.

I think Todd Archer is the most balanced and fair of the DFW media. I felt this was less critical of TO than most of the others, but still pointed. It was better insight into Tony Romo. That is what I appreciate.

I think these players may realize they need this criticism in order to come together.

So we should take Archer's word that Werder wouldn't lie...

Maybe I should ask my ex's lawyer if I got a good deal.

He was talking about journalism in general, but the conversation was about the JJT article. Werder wasn't even mentioned.

But, of course, we already know that some of the JJT article has been proven incorrect. And in this very interview Archer questions the part about Romo's practice habits, which JJT claimed were poor.

People throw up the "fabricated/lying" thing as a strawman. The problem isn't that these guys are lying. It's very likely they "heard" the things they report. But it's just reporting rumor, even if it's someone in the locker room. Imagine if you had an argument at work with your boss, in his office. Then someone asks one of your coworkers what happened. Would they have any clue? Maybe a little, but would they get the story 100% correct? Absolutely not. Yet the stuff gets reported as fact.

I don't think that Werder would lie either. What I do think is that if he either one of them were to get a source that they could hide behind as unidentifeid that produced a sensationalizing story they wouldn't think twice about it.

There is absolutely no negative ramification that can come of it. They cannot be forced to reveal their source and as such they don't have to verify the validity of the information.

It should be very obvious to everyone by now that the media will run with any story about Jones, Romo, TO, the leadership/turmoil angle, etc that they will run with it and not think back. It gets too much attention and thus renown for the person that 'breaks' it.

Do I think that someone actually told Werder what he reported? Sure.

Do I think that he gave a damn about verifying it? No, I don't.

Is there a club around here or something that I don't know about where some members get together and talk about me?

How about just sticking to the topic on hand.

The Dallas Cowboys.

You mean the Watkins article?

Really.

Who takes you serious in a T.O. discussion?

Your man-love for T.O. is evident.

Who actually has a serious TO discussion... These hate threads are garbage.

Speaking of hate, your intense hatred for TO is even more evident. ;)

Right, JJT was the one that wrote the article about the Cowboys being a joke.

I enjoyed the interview, and who doesn't hope that Romo is ready to be a leader for his team?

One aspect of the interview that I thought was silly, though, is the idea that Romo was hurt, so he couldn't practice like he would have played in a game, and the players thought he wasn't practicing hard enough.

Cmon, players understand injuries. If people are complaining about a guy's practice habits I find it hard to believe that it is because an injured guy can't go.

Maybe so, but I think they have a pretty good sense for injuries vs. not being disciplined.

This is a hate thread for T.O.?

Dude, you really some time off or something. You are losing it.

We try to have a discussion and you and some others come in and attack me with nonsense and then the thread goes to crap.

Grow up already. Just discuss the great interview we got from Archer one day after he got to talk to Romo and the kid had some comments that we can be happy about.

Archer didn't even bash T.O., neither did I. No one did. But you are so ____ you can't even figure that out.
