Audition for a Trade?

Let's just suppose for a moment that Jerry wanted to explore trading Romo.

Wouldn't the Cowboys almost need to feature him in some meaningful game action so other GM s around the league can see how the 36-year old player looks? Wouldn't other teams need a look-see about how Romo moves and throws after all the time off and the injuries?

In other words...could Romo be brought back for a game or two...principally as an audition for other teams?

Now I've stated before that I think the combination of Romo's huge salary, age and injury history make him virtually untradeable. But suppose I'm wrong about that. How would you feel about a mid-season audition?

Not a possibility. The team has already stated that Romo won't be back for the Philadelphia game on October 30th, and the trade deadline is November 1st.

To say nothing of the cap consequences of attempting to trade Romo's current contract.

Romo's career has been his audition. That said, he's not going anywhere. If Dak misses time, do you want Sanchez or Romo? Even health aside, who would you want mentoring him - Sanchez or Romo?
